I am not seeing a Select Prefix box in new post or when I try to modify my post when solved as requested. I have tried disabling Add Blocker Plus and Privacy Badger add-ons for Firefox 44.02 but still does not show.

I am having sound problems when i try to play YouTube video's. Some video's will play and others won't. I have installed Restricted Extras via Linux Software and the problem still persists?

When i play a CD or DVD via VLC media player the sound is great. It's just YouTube?

Just thought i'd add that my machine is upto date with all updates. I am running Linux Lite 2.8 64bit

(Okay, I was about to post this and after I pressed back because POST gave me an error, poof! Gone. Sigh)

Sigh. Now, this is really bugging me after I install Linux Lite. Dropbox's Indicator is not working. I can't right click and even left click, I can't simply interact with the indicator. It has an indicator on the taskbar but it's not working. My LL is installed fresh, version 2.8 and I am loving this distro, but if I can't solve this, I may be pushed to install another one (please no).

• I tried reinstalling the app but no avail.
  
• Tried installing libindicator1, nope.
  
• Tried downloading the deb file from dropbox website, naaaah.
  
• Also installed dropbox from lite software. Actually, this is the first thing I did
  

Can someone help me solve this? Here's a screenshot:

According to one of the comments, this is not new but it is new to me.The command worked for me. I did not install anything but it was there. Are there any other "hidden" programs? In kernel? :o

I made an account with no sudo and I need to change the full name and the first and last name is grayed out. Anybody help me?

Anybody knows how to check if other users not in the sudo group are trying to gain access. When my brother which is not in the sudo group runs a sudo command in  terminal it will say that it will be reported to me. An an example of what it does is in a picture below. Anybody knows how to check?

Hello everybody. I seem to be having an issue in my system. I tried to install the cinnamon desktop in linux lite 2.8 and make a how to video about it. But I accidentally closed the terminal window and had to delete the lock file of dpkg. Then I tried the install again. It gave me an error of #parsing. What is this error and how do I fix it. Thanks 

On a routine scan (ClamTK) of the LL I installed as a dual boot on my laptop I got the following result:




Clam will not quarantine it nor delete it (them)

Any suggestions?

Well I'm really excited to announce the first 'beta' version of our newest addition to our software.

Introducing Lite Info.

The purpose of the Linux Info, is to give people an idea of different computer configurations from within a Linux Lite Series. The Linux Lite Hardware Database displays Make and Model, CPU, Graphics, Audio, Network and Storage technical specifications. This provides a snapshot of the kind of computers people are able to use with Linux Lite.

This replaces the existing Hardware Database webpage.

Our software uses inxi to collect hardware information, which is then uploaded to the Linux Lite Hardware Database.
We hired a developer thanks to your ongoing contributions to handle all the web programming side of things. We're at the stage we're we'd like to release this for public testing.

Here's the process:

1. Run the tool via, Menu, System, Share Hardware Configuration.
2. Follow the prompts, takes about 20 seconds or less.
3. At the end of the prompts, you'll be offered to load the Hardware web page. Your submission will take between 15 - 60 mins to appear on the page, (depending on the number of submissions in the upload queue).

This provides much more accurate information and completely automates the entire process from beginning to end.

For this to be a success before going public with the final, we need testers. If we can get the kind of participation in this test that we did in the UEFI test, this would help to ensure the success of this application.
