Hello, is there a  way to add a password when I restart linux lite? I only have to put my password in when I log off. Also when I log off now I noticed that the screen turns black and I have to reset the PC manually.

Thanks

Will the online Help Manual be updated?  I just noticed it's still showing version 2.6.

Hi,

Just successfully upgraded one of my computers to LL2.8 Smile
I usually don't use neither the Lite Control Center, nor the Install pdates GUI.

When starting the Lite Control Center to check the version, I realized that a date from last year was shown when the computer has been updated last. I only run an update minutes before that via CLI. Assuming it might be linked to the fact that I'm not using the GUI I followed the link of the date "Install Updates".
Still it shows the date from last year.

Howdy from Thailand!

I have been using Linux for about two years.  I have an old machine (Dell Latitude E5500) which I run Puppy Linux Tahr Pup and SLACKO64 as my main operating systems.  That is about to change.  I need something with full BASH, something a little more robust than Puppy for doing certain things, like running a better text editor, for one example.  Though I will always use Puppy at least in the background.  I am a minimalist Linux distro user--all the way.

Meantime I have Linux Lite installed to my USB stick.  I will be using it this way for a while until I am used to it.

One thing I have found that I do not like so far is that after installation I find that my calendar and the strftime configuration I use in Geany is being displayed in Thai.  I am sure this is coming from the fact that I am in Thailand and the time and date are being fed to the computer in Thai.  I know it doesn't have to be this way, but I do not know how to change it.  Any ideas?  Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

All that being said, I have to say I absolutely love this distro!  It runs wonderfully on my system and it had pretty much everything I needed to start work right out of the box.

Glad to be here!

Thank you!

Hello, I installed GoldenDict on Linux Lite 2.8

I can start GoldenDict, but when I do a search, the search field changes to orange, and I get the following message:

Failure in search order: XML parse error: unexpected end of file at 1,1

Is there anybody who know how to get GoldenDict at work without any failure.

I've added two new ones. I'm happy to entertain any suggestions for others, and the appropriate color to go with it Smile
