Hi is there a way to have a fuzzy clock in xfce panel?
Kernel: 6.8.0-94-generic x86_64
I performed a number of upgrades across the Linux Lite services today.
If you see anything weird or experience a bug, please let me know in this thread.
Thank you,
Jerry
Good grief talk about silliness. Not only insulting to the user base, but what a slick willy way of explaining why... Whenever GUI integration is deprecated or removed nowadays, it is because (and in this case clearly true) of the ongoing churn with Wayland implementation. Whatever marketing whiz came up with this classic explanation (protect dumb users from themselves) i/e basically put the blame for a feature loss on the user is a real ass.
"Ubuntu 26.04 won't ship with the Software & Updates application pre-installed. This is the graphical tool for managing repositories, PPAs, and update settings that is being removed from default desktop builds.
Why? Canonical says some features are too dangerous for regular users. Accidentally disabling the main repository through the GUI breaks system updates and software installation. Enabling proposed or source repositories without understanding them is risky too."

When I try to download the ISO I get a page that says
" Error 1033
Ray ID: 9cedf97f1948f589 • 2026-02-16 15:10:55 UTC
Cloudflare Tunnel error"
So I downloaded the torrent but when I try and verify (using Linux Mint) it says :
"Download the ISO image again. Its checksum does not match."

I believe I've messed the HD on my Dell Latitude E6220 laptop. I was using Bleachbit to free up some HD space, and the laptop crashed while the process was taking place. Now the laptop won't boot from the HD, may be because it is corrupted or full. And the HD root data is not being detected anymore, neither. I'm unable to wipe or reformat the whole HD. Can only boot with the USB drive.
Can anyone please help me? Or, is it time to dump the laptop?
I am unable to install this printer driver. I have the package from Dell's website but can't get it to install. Executing the installation script opens a terminal window which asks me for my password. Once I enter it and hit ENTER, the window closes after a second or two. Note that the Dell software package is from 2013. Anyone have any insights on how to do this? I am new to Linux Lite, and Linux in general. Thanks in advance.
Linux Lite 7.4
In June 2025, I installed Linux Lite 7.4 on a 2007 laptop, replacing the hard drive with a SATA ST916082 1AS (3.2 GB).
The laptop didn't support this hardware configuration, especially the browser, any downloads, etc.; my session would crash, and I'd log out with data loss.
After several months of daily driver, firmware, and other updates, not only does the operating system handle large amounts of data without a hitch, but it does so as quickly as modern computers.
Thank you, guys, for your professionalism and enthusiasm!
