How do I change LL/Windows dual-boot (UEFI), to LL single boot (UEFI)?

As many of you are aware, I posted a tutorial at https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/tutor...y-enabled/ which fleshed-out in detail, set-by-step, the youtube video originally posted by Nehal J Wani, which explained how to set up a LL/Win UEFI dual Boot, together with a few of my own additional observations/comments.
I am now getting to the stage, where I am having less-and-less need for a dual-boot with MS Windows, and any remaining needs can be satisfied with Win8.1 set up as a virtual machine in Oracle Virtualbox on the LL host.
Deleting MS Windows from a dual-boot set up with LL on my older laptop (i.e. UEFI/Secure Boot absent) seemed fairly straightforward - I had no problems - using Gparted, then updating Grub.
However, with my newer UEFI/Secure Boot laptop, it doesn't appear to be quite so simple. I've already had a go at changing my LL/Win dual-boot set-up (UEFI/Secure boot enabled) to a single-boot LL (UEFI/Secure boot enabled), but without success. As with the older laptop, I attempted this through Gparted, deleting ONLY the partition with the Windows OS (left all other Windows partitions intact, including the EFI one). However this didn't work and the laptop just didn't boot into anything.
If anyone has had success with the above I'd love to hear from them. I've cloned a couple of copies of the dual-boot UEFI/Secure Boot setup, so can experiment a bit without losing anything of value should it all go pear-shaped!
Thanks everyone for reading this and do let me know if you've attempted the above...
Cheers
Mike

[SOLVED] How do I reinstate default Network & Volume control icons on the Panel?

After booting up today, I noticed that on the Panel, that runs horizontally along the bottom of the laptop display, the usual icons for Network and Volume Control were missing. These icons come by default when LL is installed, and are located on the right-hand end of the Panel bar. The Network one is particularly useful as it allows me to switch network for the Wi-Fi connection and also shows me the internet connection speed. The Volume icon is also useful as it allows me coarse control for Clementine or other media players.
I don't know why they are missing - maybe I inadvertently clicked on something?
How do I reinstate them?
Many thanks, as ever, for your kind help...
Regards
Mike

Hi all,
Love Linuxlite 2.6 64bit and it has been working great since I've installed it a few weeks ago, so thanks to the Devs and everyone putting their time in to offer this great OS.
I did an "install Update" today as normal and when i reboot now i see this popup message before it starts up:
VBoxClient: the VirtualBox kernel service is not running. Exiting
then it starts normal.
I have no virtual box stuff installed or anything installed to do with virtual box, just a normal install of Linuxlite 2.6 64bit on this dell laptop, and this only happened after i updated today?
Is there anything i can do to get rid of this message?
Thanks again.
Tommy

Can't connect to VPN via PPTP on Lite

I have moved this to here as previously I mistakenly put it in a thread marked 'Solved'
I am having a problem connecting to VPN by PPTP.
I have a dual boot with Windows7 and the same details (password /user-id /address) work on Windows but not on Lite.
They also work on another computer which has Xubuntu on it.
Is there anything in Lite which could explain this failure to connect?
I wondered if I should re-install anything, but it is a new installation 2 days ago...
I am on a ethernet connection and on a PC not Wifi from a Laptop.

Need help with Linux Lite boot issue please

When I install Linux Lite on the same computer as my 2 other Linux distros, Linux Lite is not accessable from the same grub boot screen.
Let me explain....
I have a Manjaro distro and a Debian distro on the same computer. I installed Linux lite and all went well. When I rebooted the grub screen indicated all 3 distros on the boot list. When I select Linux Lite, it gives me a console screen where it says file not found, press any key. When I press a key it takes me back to the grub screen. The other 2 distros boot fine. The only way I can access Linux Lite is to go into the bios and select the LL partition from the boot list. LL then boots fine.
Is there a way to fix this where I can access LL from my main grub boot screen along with the other 2 distros?
All distros are installed legacy, not UEFI.
Thanks!

[SOLVED] NVIDIA drivers didn't work properly after reboot on Dell Latitude E6410

A side note to the install of LL 2.6 on my Dell Latitude E6410:
After a successful install of LL I decided to try the NVIDIA video drivers offered as options under Hardware Drivers. There were four NVIDIA drivers listed, two for version 340.96 and two for version 304.131. I tried one of each and in each case got strange behaviour on startup:
- The feather boot screen was replaced by a text version "Linux Lite 2.6" with dots below it
- My desktop background was replaced by the xfce mouse one
- The window font sizes changed
- The line for "temp1" went missing in the output for the sensors command (which I use in conky)
During boot I saw error messages flash by (stuff about udev and systemd).
I changed back to the Linux Xorg driver and all returned to normal, so this is not a big problem for me, but I thought I should report it.
My E6410 has a 1440 x 900 screen and lspci gives: VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GT218M [NVS 3100M] (rev a2)
For what it's worth.
