I have run into a problem with my password. It works fine to log in on boot but when I try to do software updates and enter the same password it says the password is incorrect. I have rebooted and logged in many times, no problem with the password but it will not accept the same password for software updates.  Sad

This is a LL 2.6 32 bit install on a Acer AOA150 netbook.

Also did a complete fresh install, still have the same problem.

I was trying to install LL 32 bit on my old Acer AO150 net book. I get the error message " isolinux.bin missing or corrupt "  Any ideas why this is happening? Just for laughs I tried my other USB drive with 64 bit LL on it and it boots up.  Sad

Had installed the latest Linux lite onto a USB via unetbootin.
Then installed it to a laptop alongside windows 8.1
LL works great but I get a blue screen error when trying to run windows:
Windows failed to start.... File \boot\bcd, stats: 0xc000000e, Info: Boot configuration data for your PC is missing or contains errors....
Pls help thanks

After fighting and winning a lot battles with problems relating to Linux-Lite  the War still goes on and on so for me its time to admit defeat and go back to Windows . For me LL is not, in spite of all the effort put in by the team, a real alternative to  Microsoft to make LL a everyday user user-friendly with everything using a GUI rather than needing to learn and type in lots of data using a CLI

Thanks to Everyone who have tried to help me in my many hours of need . Unfortunately the ones who do respond are generally into Terminal Commands but not having learnt this low level language with its syntax its difficult for me. How do I know what to do if I do not get the correct response. Is it me or has the solution provider missed some important detail that they expect I should know  etc
At times I made feel that I am inadequate because I want GUI solutions and  I am  not prepared to learn the CLI. If I wanted to be a real geek I could use basic binary 1's and O's to input / output as that is all a computer deals with . Anything above that level is designed to make life for us humans easier . I want the highest level which at the moment is GUI . I just want to use a computer to run  programs and not bother with the OS once I set up its setting to my liking.

I am devoting too much time getting  Computers including Smartphones to work without problems  . We were promised that computer would save us time but thats not my view - they take time away ?

At the moment Windows 10 is working for me ok . Its not perfect and there is too much change for the sake of style .

Good Luck to you all and my you achieve your dreams

Colin

Hello everyone, I am new to LL and have a question. Is it possible to eliminate the need to enter passwords when the system wakes up and when the monitor wakes up. It gets slightly annoying to constantly be entering my password.

Cheers, David.

I have tried installing flash in chromium  through install/remove software but without success.

BBC i Player tells me I need to install Adobe Flash player whereas ITV player tells me I need to update Flash player, so neither player will work in Chromium, yet both work flawlessly in Firefox.

I know I could use Firefox just for these but as everything previously worked flawlessly in Chrome (32bit Linux) I would expect to be able to achieve the same result in Chromium.

Any help or advise in achieving my goal would be very much appreciated

Can Linux Lite OS be repaired without uninstalling etc
I have a problem with Open Office Writer etc. When Writer is opened the Program Flash screen shows briefly then nothing
[/size]The only reference I found was  https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+so...tion/60838
In spite of lots of help the only solution by the OP was to reinstall Ubuntu

I have tried Purging both LibreOffice and OpenOffice and reinstalled OpenOffice but the problem still occurs,
The same problem does not occur on another Linux-lite 2.6  installation  on another computer .

I would like to avoid having to install Linux-lite from scratch

Hello.

I'm noticing when I want to type a left bracket i.e. SHIFT 9 on my keyboard, it does not display, no matter what program I'm using. I use this quite often so it's rather annoying. It was working previously when I had Linux Mint Cinnamon installed on my Asus Zenbook UX-21 for a few weeks. I had other issues with Cinnamon so decided to ditch and install LL. Everything is fine except for this little problem. Given it was working previously using Cinnamon, I don't think it's a hardware problem. Can anybody help please?

Thanks
Paul

Hello, I've decided to leave Linux Lite for Manjaro. I would like to thank the dev team, and the community to helping me ease into GNU/Linux as a newbie.
Goodbye, and thank you,
