First Time of use
Want to be able to restore operating system and user files in the event of sda failure. cf Windows full Backup/restore
0) LL2.6 32bit = on HPdc7760 with 3 GB Ram Dual core Intel CPU 1.9 GHZ
1) System internal 160 GB HDD default single partition ( + swap etc) EXT4. @ 24.9 GB Free = sda
2) Freshly formatted (Gparted) old External USB 2.0 160 GB HDD default single partition EXT4 @149 GB Free = sdb1
No files/folders on SDB1 ( hidden or otherwise).
Ist System back up:aim to be able to restore operating system and user files in the event of sda failure No previous restore points
Storage point path chosen /mnt/sdb1
Point Operations: Create New = 18:21 start Creating Store Point stopped at 18:45 i.e approx 24 minutes to complete
Restore point appears on systemback screen as 2016-01-07,18.20.59
Close SystemBack
SDA now reads only 14.5 GB Free
SDB now still reads 149.3 GB Free NO file visible. ( incl hidden Files)
Please advise what is going on – what have I missed.
Also What is the difference between "SystemBack" and "Backup" in menu

New computer doesn't have a CD/DVD drive I used my neighbor computer look what was on disk.
Am using the onboard Nic.
So how can I get online and getupdates? Also am using LL 2.4 version.
Do I need to buy a Nic card?

| Boot up and shut down take forever |

I apologize if this has been addressed before, I couldn't find it if so. I have found Linuxlite to be very slow to boot and shutdown. Not referring to the GRUB part but the part with the "splash screen" where all of the services and what not are being loaded. Is there any way to speed it up, i.e. a list of the bare minimum process needed to make the OS work. By "work" I mean be usable right away (while I'm not new to Linux I'm not into working from command line, just the basics like installing software and updating not for the whole system.)

For one reason or another, when I try to install a game in one of my different drives, I keep getting the message that says Failed to create new Steam library folder, anybody have a solution to this. Also, yes I have run the sudo chown -R user:user /media/user/"drive"/ && chmod -R 770 /media/user/"drive"/ command.

I wanted to get "Magneto Bold "font for LibreOffice and found that Fonts are part of LL
Not sure if this is a recognized method but it worked for me ,
Downloaded > Magnetob.TTF
and copied it Clipboard
Using Catfish I searched for .TTF
I then right clicked on a result showing the fonts folder and > "Show in File Manager "
Then Paste into Folder
next time I opened LibreOffice it was in the list
