Apologies for this absurdly simple question, I am sure I have either forgotten or am missing something ridiculously obvious, but I am getting ready to tinker with a few machines and I cannot find out which version of LL I have on them. System info and report give me core and Ubuntu information, but I can't find anything about LL version. What am I missing/forgetting? Thanks!

I have been successful at installing Diablo III on PlayOnLinux in LinuxLite 2.6 64bit,with Nvidia/bumblebee drivers.

Here are the steps: (assuming your video drivers are all setup and working !)
1. Download Diablo 3 client from official Blizzard site

2. To Install Diablo 3 using PlayOnLinux, Open POL and Click Install button.
3. search for diablo, select Diablo III, Click install.
4.Then choose "use a setup file on my computer" (choose/find the setup file you downloaded).
5.Now install Diablo 3 as usual, login to battle.net and download D3 game.

(PlayOnLinux will download wine automatically and configure itself.)

If you are using an Nvidia/hybrid graphics setup-
Go to the desktop shortcut, right click properties, look in the tabs , right click and copy the File Path/Location for the shortcut of Diablo III.
-Then paste it in a terminal (be sure the file name is there too. Then use "optirun" or "primusrun" ie:  $ primusrun /FILEPATH_AND_NAME
(I had an issue updating and but i can still play. Apparently its a wine issue from what i found on forums. Not sure if it has been resolved yet.)
I hope that helps, I am trying to get all my gaming done on LinuxLite. (Gaming is the obstacle i have left in order to fully convert over to Linux)

Hi there!

Every time I boot my software updater tells me I have updates avail for Thunderbird Mail and Chromium Browser. As far as I know I have neither of these installed nor do I want them. I am getting annoyed that I have to uncheck those boxes every single time I boot. Is there a way to tell LL to stop asking me about these unwanted updates?

Have a happy!
TT

I was coping files from computer to external drive when LL froze. I left computer for a bit nothing was moving mouse so couldn't unmount ex_drive. SO powered off computer.

This was old Computer A as I was put a new hard drive in Computer B  that's why copying data across.

on Computer B  see the other partitions of Ex-drive but not the one I had open when LL froze.
I used my neighbour computer Win7 and Ex-drive loads ok and partition opens can see data.

I did look at google most was talk about 3rd party software, as above can see data on Win7 computer.

here is error popup

Quote:Error mounting /dev/sdb1 at /media/Nims/dat: Command-line `mount -t "ntfs" -o "uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid,uid=1000,gid=1000,dmask=0077,fmask=0177" "/dev/sdb1" "/media/Nims/dat"' exited with non-zero exit status 13: $MFTMirr does not match $MFT (record 0).
Failed to mount '/dev/sdb1': Input/output error

NTFS is either inconsistent, or there is a hardware fault, or it's a
SoftRAID/FakeRAID hardware. In the first case run chkdsk /f on Windows
then reboot into Windows twice. The usage of the /f parameter is very
important! If the device is a SoftRAID/FakeRAID then first activate
it and mount a different device under the /dev/mapper/ directory, (e.g.
/dev/mapper/nvidia_eahaabcc1). Please see the 'dmraid' documentation
for more details.

Quote:chkdsk /f
/f this will format partition and losses data.

Thanks

to add I see sudo mount /dev/sdd1 /mnt but don't want be typing code and not know what it does as my losses data.

Hi,

I'm stuck on the boot screen. The progress bar fills completely (never did before, maybe on fourth) and than it just hangs there. Maybe this has something to do with LL acting up in the last days. Sometimes it wont go to hibernate when I close the lit. When I want to shut it down it reboots and yesterday I got an error when waking up from hibernate that the RAM is full and there are no killable processes.
For now the only way to shut it down is to press the power button.
