I have LL 3.0 x64 installed from a usb on two systems currently.  My HTPC installed without issue.  However, my Lenovo Yoga 300 is the problem.  I have it set to legacy in the BIOS and am able to boot from the live installation stick and install to the internal 32 GB MMC in the laptop. However, when I reboot after the installation, I am getting the message "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key".  I have gone through the settings in the BIOS but cannot get it to work.  I had tried Peppermint OS 7.0 previously and this installed via UEFI without any problems.  However, I would prefer to run LL Smile

Any help greatly appreciated, thanks

Some of the plugins I use in Firefox I need.  Thats why I haven't switched to google chrome or chromium.  But Firefox keeps getting slower.  It's probably not the plugins because I don't use anymore than 4 or 5.  The other day I decided to give Pale Moon a try.  It's a lot faster.  Is running smoother.  But the spell checker doesn't work on every forum site I visit.  Also I can't get the html5 working in HD on youtube smoothly.  I also have that same problem with firefox.  In firefox hmtl5 is really slow.  Especially when I need to switch between full screen and the original size.

I use xfce mailwatch to check if i got new email. It worked without any problems before. But now after i boot up laptop i get the following error: Could not find host "pop3.telfort.nl": Name or service not known.

But when i then just manually do a mailcheck i dont get any errors and everything works fine untill the next reboot or log out/log in.

I googled but couldnt find any solution to the problem. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this and how to fix it?

Edit: Installed LL3.0 and now xfce mailwatch is working correct again. No idea what caused the problem. Didn't had it before on LL2.8. Marked topic as solved

Hi all, I saw the directions on how to set up a "daily" cron TRIM.  But how do set up a weekly? I have always used the discard entry with noatime, but I see it's not so good to use. I have tried LL 3.0 while it's awesome, my netbook seems a bit slower. I find LL 1.0.6 is the best fit for it. I Have tried so many distro's of Linux but 1.0.6 feels so awesome Smile Any help would be appreciated on the weekly trim Smile Thanks all and awesome job on LL 3.0

Dear LL Users

I am completly new here and I hope to get help.

I was happy to found an system that directly recognizes the bluetooth speaker and connect it AD2D sink. Overall Linux Lite seems for me easy.

All other distris didn't. I wanted to install it now on HD but after "preparing hardware" the installer crashed and installation stopped.

I tried LL 2.8 and it finalized the installation without problems - but (as by all other Ubuntu Derivate) Bluetooth speaker connection fails.

I want to use 3.0 but what can I try to finalize the installation successfull
Thanks for help and sorry for my bad english.

Ah... my system "Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook - E8310 with Centrino Duo" 4GB RAM
I know not the newest one but I want to use this Laptop only for playing music via the bluetooh speaker. For this it would be really sufficient.

So thanks for help as far as possible
Best Regards
Dietmar

edit: I tried as well 64bit version - same result - were can I found the log file of installation process? Or is it send automatically to an specified address?

I read the linked article. My driver, AMD Radeon HD 7560D, is not listed. It is a build-in graphics in my processor, A10-6700. The latest recommendation is I have seen is by AJ Reissig. He has recommendations at http://ajreissig.com/eliminate-screen-te...-graphics/ and http://ajreissig.com/eliminate-screen-te...-graphics/

.

I have not noticed any screen tearing other than when I view You Tube videos that are suppose to be tests to show if you have it or other video problem just using the driver picked by Linux Lite. I am inclined to leave well enough alone. I do not like all the busy effects of Compiz so do not particular want to clutter up my computer with it for that solution.

Any recommendations?
