Hi
I will first like to say that i'm fairly new to linux and just starting out to explore and learn so be patient with me please.
On to my question: I installed WordPress on my computer for testing purposes following this tutorial http://www.tutorialspoint.com/articles/h...linux-mint . Everything worked alright and i have a site installed in /var/www/html/site1. I have multisite enabled on site1.
Now, i thought i will try to have two different sites with different databases and went ahead and installed another site at /var/www/html/site2, following same instructions in the tutorial above. Here im facing a problem with "403 forbidden you dont have permission to access site2 on this server." I did try changing folder permissions and such but since i was doing copy paste, i dont understand what its that im doing wrong.
Anybody know a tutorial to help me achieve what i want? I will do a clean install of linux lite and start over once i know there is a solution out there.
Thanks for your time.
Hello everyone,
I started using linux 3 years ago switching between distros without actually knowing what i'm doing. Finally settled on linux lite about 6 months ago and i'm a believer now.
I have been/still am a copy paste guy following tutorials without ever learning anything but im finally taking the right steps to at least know what it's i'm copying with the aim being to learn as i go along.
Totally happy since updating to 3.0 a week back or so and i now keep messing with things and reinstalling after i break them, just coz i can
Hope to learn from all of you. Keep up the good work !
Hi,
With two LL 2.8 64-bit systems I had no problem to connect from one system to the other via a sftp connection in Thunar and open/edit remote files.
Current situation:
server: LL 2.8 64-bit
client: LL 3.0 64-bit
Sftp connection establishes successfully. Copy/move operations between server and client work without problems (drag & drop between two Thunar windows on client side).
However:
1. txt files: If I open a remote txt file, I can successfully edit that file and also save it without any error message/ warning. HOWEVER the file content is gone! File size is 0.
2. Libre Office files: Remote Libre Office files just won't open, neither by double click, right click and "Open with", nor from within Libre Office.
Any advice would be appreciated
Is this by design?

Hi folks, anyone know how to get Spotify installed. I followed Spotify instructions and it complains about something missing. I ran updates but there is still something making the installer fail per their instructions.
I recently posted http://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/securi.../#msg24656 in Security and Bug Fixes. When the problem was solved, I thought I should mark it as solved but was unable to do so. After some forum searching, I found this option may only available in Support http://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/introd...1/#msg3761 so I modified it manually on the subject line.
Either I posted in wrong section or it would be helpful to be available in Security and Bug Fixes.
My friend has been trying to get me to start learning how to program in C and i was surprised to find that the gcc compiler was installed by default in Linux Lite. How good is that!
Can anyone suggest some decent 'free' online C programming tutorials?
Hi all.
Just fixed a friends laptop which I had installed ll2 on several years ago and presented to her, she had a power outage and no battery so corruption was the result, this may be set as default in 3, have not installed it on anything yet to look, have only recently downloaded the iso, would it not make sense to set this parameter as it would then be more like Windows as it would run fsck on boot whenever there was a problem.
Cheers.
J
