Hi all, I am currently using LL 1.0.6 on my Toshiba Netbook. Used to have DSL, now using Verizon FiOS. I'm using the wifi it worked perfect when I was using DSL, now it only shows connected and no websites load, Skype works,  Transmission torrent client works but the downloads are way to slow. I cannot use any terminal commands to download any software it does not connect. Is this a limitation of my Netbook? I don't think it is, it's has 802.11n.  Or a limitation of LL 1.0.6?

Thanks

Linux Lite will be participating in the global protest for Net Neutrality.

For those who want to know what Net Neutrality is:

"Net neutrality is the principle that Internet service providers and governments regulating the Internet should treat all data on the Internet the same, not discriminating or charging differentially by user, content, website, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or mode of communication."

Whenever I put a YouTube link on a post, the Youtube video's 'cover' appears.  How can I stop this happening and just show the link for people to click on should they wish?

Thanks for your help.

Hello!

My friend gave me a keyboard (HIGH-SPEED SERIAL BUS USB 2.0 that has a backlight). But, unfortunately the backlight can be only activated with Windows OS. The only thing that lights up (on this OS) is the Caps and Num Lock. Now, I am just wondering, is there a way to make this work on this OS?

In Linux Lite series 1 as soon as you put in the cd/dvd & booted from it the last choice on the screen was 'Install this distribution permanently' (or words thereabout). So you didn't have to boot into a live environment if you don't want to. You could start the installation right away. I'm asking this for two reasons. The first has to do with new major releases. IE: LL 4.0, 5.0, etc. You can't upgrade from an older version, you have to install fresh. Second, booting to a live environment in a lower power computer (ex: netbook) can be a slow experience, especially if your intention is to install it, not check it out. This was a good feature & I hope it can be considered for a return. Quite usefull for fresh re-installs too. Hope this is a good suggestion.

I've installed Linux Lite on an older PC of a friend. Now he has installed LXDE. Will this make problems?

As the title implies, I am trying to get linux lite to install on my EEE 900.  I am booting from a flash drive, and when I get to the boot screen if I choose to start linux lite,  it will freeze immediately.  Memtest86+ will run but anything else freezes.

This computer has an Intel Celeron 900 mhz processor and 2 gb of ram.  I am currently running Ubuntu 14.04.5 and it works well, but a little slow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know this subject has been discussed before. I've posted multiple times about how completely impressed with Lite I am. I'd like to see some additional ways someone like me can promote this really great distro. Here is my situation.

I live in what most of you would call an extremely rural area of southern Illinois. The County I live in has a population of 16,233 and the town has a population of 8,631. Not only that, but all of the surrounding Counties are very similar in demographics. I am disabled/retired and I no longer am active in any clubs or organizations.

So with that in mind, what are ways I can best help promote Lite? I truly believe I've found a Linux distro I can depend on for a long time to come. I'd like to do what I can to help ensure the longevity of the Lite project. Any ideas?
