I was really excited to see the iconic film, 2001 - A Space Odyssey, from my youth listed under get_iplayer. This was the output from terminal confirming its listing:

Code:
[mike@MJ-X71Q ~]$ get_iplayer odyssey get_iplayer v3.01, Copyright (C) 2008-2010 Phil Lewis   This program comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; for details use --warranty.   This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it under certain   conditions; use --conditions for details. NOTE: A UK TV licence is required to legally access BBC iPlayer TV content Matches: 19:    2001: A Space Odyssey - -, BBC Two, b00ls6sl INFO: 1 Matching Programmes

I then typed in the programme number, following the '-g' command in get_iplayer, but it says "no media streams found...":
Code:
[mike@MJ-X71Q ~]$ get_iplayer -g 19 get_iplayer v3.01, Copyright (C) 2008-2010 Phil Lewis   This program comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; for details use --warranty.   This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it under certain   conditions; use --conditions for details.   NOTE: A UK TV licence is required to legally access BBC iPlayer TV content Matches: 19:    2001: A Space Odyssey - -, BBC Two, b00ls6sl INFO: 1 Matching Programmes WARNING: No media streams found for requested programme versions and recording modes.

Does anyone know of an alternative way (and the steps involved) to download this get_iplayer listed programme in LL?  I'd really love to see this film again.

Many thanks in advance, as ever, for an help with this ...

I thought this was pretty interesting. Put it here because I thought discussion would reflect back to LL.

Hi all
I have a hard drive (/dev/sdc) with 1TB that my root, swap and home partitions reside in. Recently I've acquired a brand new hard drive and now I have extra space to play with.
My current setup:

And my target is:
Basically that image shows exactly what I want to do.
My question is if I hit "apply" (on a live cd of course) that'll work?
Because those are system partitions I'm a bit afraid everything will be destroyed after the operation complete..

BTW I'll be happy to be informed of a better setup Smile

Thanks a lot!

Hello people
I had a problem connecting to the windows network, when I put smb: // ipaddressofwindowspc throws me:

Can not open "file system"
Failed to retrieve list of shared folders on server: Connection refused.

The strange thing is that, before updating my linux lite detected it and then no. :'(

Does Linux Lite generate something like an installation protocol?

I've installed Linux Lite at an older PC of a friend. It has taken hours because of a defect DVD drive. But the system is not totally stable. (Web browsers are crashing, if you load any webpage. This was an error, which occured just after the installation of Linux Lite.)

Now my friend has changed different things. I'm not sure that he has told me all his manipulations. As I looked at the system some days ago, I was suprised, that I could not find the directory "/opt". My friend told me, that he has resized a partition for Windows XP at the same PC, because it needs more space for an application. I assume, that he has deleted the separate partition for "/opt", which I have installed.  :Smile

I would like to compare the current status with my installation parameters. So I wonder, if Linux Lite has generated automatically an installation log and where I could find it.

Sorry about my bad English.

I've been searching for some way to select the level of updates that are installed. I really hate to bring Linux Mint into the discussion again, but unfortunately that's what I had been using for a long while before Lite. With Mint you could easily select from level 1 to level 5 updates and also decide whether to display the updates you didn't want to install.

In Synaptic, under Settings > Repositories, I found the Updates screen with three options. I noticed the third option states, "Unsupported Updates". Should that box be checked, or should I uncheck it to insure I don't accidentally bork my install. Running Mint I only installed Levels 1, 2, and 3.

Having noted the final edition of Linux Lite 3.4 has been announced, I also saw a reference in Softpedia.com on July 3rd, that Lite can have the latest kernel installed.  My question, is the latest kernel 4.12 a part of this final edition?
