Hi All,
Has any one else had problems trying to do updates after installing Linux Lite 2.2?
Every time I try to run an update either through Menu->Favorites->Install updates or open a terminal window and do a sudo apt-get update it points to the site http://repo.steampowered.com.
Why would updates for the Linux OS be coming from a gaming site?
I think it would be nice to know how many people are actually using Linux Lite. So I thought I would suggest a LL user counter on the forum to keep track of the number of users, or the number of computers it is used on. Just a thought, it would help developers see how far the distro has reached in my opinion.
How does one change the login startupsound.wav to something else.
I opened the boot folder (as administrator), copied another wav file to the folder and pointer the login path to this file in system settings. Now there is no login sound at all. Renamed the original startupsound.wav file to startupsoundold.wav and my new one to startupsound.wav. Still no go! Just pointing to a new wav file does not seem to work.
Anyone know how I can get my original startupsound back or indeed change to something of my choosing.
Thanks
I have installed a program but ( executable ) it does not start up ?
I have unpacked it from a tar.gz file but after that is only the execute file not working...
Hi
I am a new Linux user. I replaced an old laptop running win7 with Linux lite. I got to the login screen. I then pressed the restart button and my screen went black. I tried to Re boot few time but still getting only a black screen. I tried to press several keys as suggest by other posts in web without any success. Please help
I saw this procedure elsewhere but the locations were specific to another distro...
Has anyone done this with Linux Lite ?
sorry... edited original title to 'system install' and not update
Hi,
Am referring to UNLIMITY's question and misko_2083's reply in regard to update notification in this post:
https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/off-t.../#msg13041
Does anyone know whether Synaptic's update notification (-> Settings -> Repositories -> Updates) is actually working respectively why not? It would at least cover security updates. Also don't know why "When there are other updates" options are deactivated.
Wouldn't that feature mainly cover what UNLIMITY has been asking for? For a good reason
