Firstly i have found Linux Lite an outstanding OS.....  It has trouble free untill today....

When booting up.....  Put in password.....  Then i get a black screen with a cursor on it.....

If i boot up into windows.....  Works Ok.....

I would appreciate if some could help me with this one.....  A solution or a way to recover without losing settings.....

I have used systemback..... Can this be used to recover if there is not a easy solution....

Regards

The keyboard shortcut listed in the manual to lock ones desktop is Super+L.  But mine was listed as follows:

I edited that entry with the xflock4 command.  And now the screen does lock with Super+L.  I guess it wasn't working before because I disabled Light Locker.

Code:

I used to see a popup notifying me that software updates are available.  I don't see that anymore on either of my PCs.  I know how to do it manually, but I am concerned for the people I helped get Linux Lite running.

Not sure about the rest of you, but Distro hopping is a bit of an addiction for me.  When all is said and done though it does serve to help me appreciate Linux Lite.  I always have one computer running LL but constantly try new Distros.  Some good, some not so good, some probably good but won't run on my hardware, some good but difficult to use or customize. Mint - you are great but still sometimes kind of finicky, xubuntu - fast but still a bit tough to get just how I want ... OpenSUSE - I really want to like you but you seem to make things difficult ... So far, nothing has been quite as usable, friendly, fast and worked so well, even on old finicky hardware others won't even load on!  All the little details cinch the deal ... the tweaks, the lite software center, right clicking to check md5s, etc. and still enough ubuntu in it's blood that everything works on it.

I generally experiment on some old boxes, but recently put LL 2.6 on my sort of newish (3 years old maybe?) laptop, and it it is so smooth and fast! Awesome.

Thanks Jerry and the rest of the team!

Chris

Can't seem to find the SOLVED  button at the bottom of thread .?? Is that just my display of forum or is it a general problem issue.
