I did a little research with this in google. Little confused about where to go with my searches.
I needed to update the firmware on my ford sync. All this involves is downloading the zip file and then extracting the files to the usb stick. But what Archive Manager for gnome and Windows zip (whatever they call it) extracts is two different things!
This the way it should look

This the way it looks in Linux Lite

Both extract files but not the files I need for the car. Only Windows did it right. Is there anyway around this?
After having installed some updates on Lite 3.0, along with some new applications, I received a GUI failure on the next boot. Do I post any logs here?
This is somewhat of a workaround until we get full support in Firefox.

All,
I just installed Linux Lite on my Acer Aspire One. All things looked good. I applied updates, activated the driver code for AMD and Broadcom, the copied back the stuff from an external drive. I even configured Thunderbird. After that I am unable to log in. It is like something in the update either reset my password or changed the keyboard configuration to non-American or something. The login screen doesn't give me an option to view password while typing so I cannot see if there has been some keyboard change.
How do I fix this?
I love your Christmas Template and a very Merry and Joyous Christmas to all who celebrate the birth of Christ. To all others, Happy Holidays and a Blessed New Year.
Xmas template is kinda blinding. 8) Is it possible for to have a user choice for using a darker forum theme? I like this one http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/...?lemma=759
Hi all,
We have added Pale Moon support to Lite Tweaks in Linux Lite 3.x Series.
New features:
- Clean Pale Moon browser cache
- Set Pale Moon as Default Web browser

Once the default browser has been set, all web related links should open by default with your preferred browser:

Just visited the site and noticed a strange layout of rent posts.
I have just successfully installed LL3 on an 8G stick using Linux Live USB creator on a Windows 8 e540 ThinkPad with 16G of Ram. I am very impressed with this distro so far having used Puppy Linux in the past which I also think is a great - but for me as a Linux novice Linux Lite seems far easier to use. My questions are:
1. How much drive space does the initial install use?
2. How can I tell how much space I have available for installing additional packages?
3. How can I tell how much space I have available for packages and "saved" files like text documents and spreadsheets etc.
As an aside I love that desktop and the fonts - a thing of beauty.
