Doesnt see wifi networks - TicoLyte - 01-13-2017 Here's an odd but probably simple one ? I installed to my hard drive via usb stick on a Toshiba satellite while attached to a network cable. All went lovely, as usual. I disconnected and went out to my shop where I have a router and a chip thingie from moviestar which I use with my Lenovo pad and previously with this laptop with antiX running on it. Anothr router is an extensioin from the on in the house.By cable all is fine. Then I took a USB wifi antennae and plugged it in. There were the 2 wifi and I was able to connect to either one as long as the antennae is plugged in the USB, Once unplugged the wifi networks don't show in the options. Only the ethernet. Where do I look ? Thanks. Re: Doesnt see wifi networks - rokytnji - 01-13-2017 Make sure your router wifi light is on. There are times my isp providers server <Windstream> that supplies the internet signal to my place in the boon docks. Freaks out when I play with hardware. They need to reset their server on their end to get my gear working probably again. A phone call usually fixes this problem. After checking everything to make sure stuff is working right. In terminal what does. Code: ip addr show and Code: ip link show and since you run AntiX <I am the mod on their forum and MX linux forums> run Code: inxi -Fxz in terminal and post those results also in this thread. So members here can see what gear you are running and what version of Linux-Lite you are running also. Your MX box uses different hardware than Code: Card-2: D-Link DWA-127 Wireless N 150 High-Gain Adapter(rev.A1) [Ralink RT3070] or is that the wireless usb you plugged into your Linux-Lite box and it did not work? Edit: anytime you post a terminal readout. Please use code tags <# mark in toolbar under advanced reply box> like I just did below for your readout. Code: $ inxi -Fxz |
