When Attempting to update apt, I get the following error.
Code: E: The repository 'http://repo.linuxliteos.com/linuxlite bionic Release' does not have a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure( manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.
I tried the following suggestion without success...Code: sudo rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists/*

Howdy Folks. Relatively new user of Linux Lite here. I am attempting to make a custom interpretation of conky, and decided to download some free fonts to make it my own.
64-bit Linux Lite 4.8, 18 hour old Installation
NUC7i3DNKE
m.2SSD / Single Partition Linux Install
I installed everything by default from the USB installation. After squaring away some simple mechanics for my use of this installation (Bluetooth, docking bay, Google integration), I started to play with conky, and install a couple of fonts.
The first font that I installed was Initial.ttf ... I downloaded it to my Download directory. Unzipped its Archive, Right clicked the font itself, and Opened it in "Fonts" and then Clicked Install in the header bar.
I rebuilt the font cache using fc-cache -f -v
I opened the widget file in the conky-lite directory and changed the fields which I wanted a different font to Initial. CTRL+S, and it worked like a charm.
I downloaded another font, installed it the same way - twenty-one.ttf and a third font, the amazing grace.ttf -- fc-cache -f -v and then adjusted the widget file in leafpad again. CTRL+S, and it did NOT work like a charm.
It reverted back to the original font I had started with before using Initial.ttf
I tried to manually bring the font from the download directory which I had it in at Install over to the directory /usr/share/fonts/truetype/litefonts and then fc-cache -f -v which it ran succesfully, but STILL is not reflecting the new font in the conky-lite widget.
Is there something that I skipped ? Is there a way to uninstall the fonts, and try installing them again?
Your knowledge, advice, and patience is highly appreciated.
Thank you,
Nick Shades
**edit: 8:17pm PST 4/25/2020 -- I decided to do a hard reset, and the fonts seem to work, now. specifically, "the amazing grace" which I installed last. Not sure why it did not work with the rebuild of the font cache. I am going to try the other font which I was interested in first and come back to this thread.
**edit: 9:28m PST 4/25/2020 -- Played with the other fonts I was interested in using - "twenty-one.ttf" and it would not load, despite being installed. I rebuilt the font cache as listed above, this time with sudo as well , and it did not work after rebuilding the cache. Is there another variable to the rebuilding of the cache string which I should use? It seems to me that rebuilding the cache should work in absence of a reset every time, after all, thats why we use Linux, right?
Is there a way to rebuild the font cache without resetting, and with a string different than fc-cache ?
**Edit: 9:52pm -- THis is very, very strange. I can open LibreOffice and use any of the fonts which I have installed without a problem, but I cannot get several of them to load into the widget for conky.
If I can use a font that is installed in LibreOffice without any problem, but I cannot get it to load into Conky, is it named something different? is there something I should do differently?
I am going to attempt to add some screenshots of what is going on.
** Edit: 10:06pm -- added screenshots

Pardon me for my senility
Sometime time ago I used a release of some linux product that allowed me to disable the icon from a launcher and just use the words themselves.
I am looking as to what desktop that was?
By way of explanation. Now that I am senile I can no longer look at an Icon and associate it with something physical. That includes colors and other things that require cognitive skills.
Thanks for any help you can give, this maybe the last stop before god old "PCdos" where I started .
