| How do I use Firewalld? |

In LL4.8, the ufw firewall was simple to operate, just set it to autostart on boot.
In LL5.0, Firewalld seems very complicated.
I can't figure how to make it start at boot and the options are,
at least to me, not understandable.
Also, what is Firewall-cmd and how does it figure into Firewalld ?
Is it ok to just use the default Firewalld settings ?
And how do you start Firewalld and how do you autostart it on boot ?
And once you have it running, how do you disable it if needed and
then re-enable it ?

Hiya Folks,
I have installed Cherrytree 0.39.3 today as I had just installed LL 5.0. this week.
The LL4.8 also had Cherrytree installed.
Problem:
In the previous install I could copy and paste text and images from a web page, into Cherrytree, no problem
In this version that was installed via snap store only copies the text, and does not copy paste the images as well.
I have searched the google and come up with no answers as yet. Has any body had this problem and found a fix?
thanks
H

Just wanted to say Hi, and also complement on a wonderful install on my older Acer 5520-5912 Amd turion 64x2 tl58 with Nvidia 7000m graphics that on other distros I had to fudge drivers and such for the graphics but this one was just clean and unexpected I guess.. I breathed a sigh of relief when I booted the live version and it just worked..everything so far just works!!! So it was on to install and it just works!!! Thank You guys so much
Oh also I tinker with computers quite a bit but not an expert, my Son is the expert so when I need help..in fact he gifts me things like a Dell Poweredge R610 server for Christmas so I have set up Proxmox with Ubuntu lxc, plex server, and still experimenting. I am using refurbished office computer as HTPC, and use raspberry pi's as well, so I do like to play around with operating systems. And I work in Tool and Die/ Vinyl window extrusion environment so not even related.
Oh and I hate to throw away old computers it just seems like a waste, but I might have a problem.

server 0.pool.ntp.org
server 1.pool.ntp.org
server 2.ntp.pool.org
server 3.pool.ntp.org
Por las corrrespondientes a nuestro pais o zona horaria estan en esta direccion web:
https://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/ve
En mi caso son las de mi pais Venezuela
server 0.south-america.pool.ntp.org
server 1.south-america.pool.ntp.org
server 2.south-america.pool.ntp.org
server 3.south-america.pool.ntp.org
Luego con CTRL O salvamos y luego salimos con CTRL Z
Reiniciamos y en una terminal al entrar colocamos lo siguiente:
sudo ntpdate -u ntp.ubuntu.com
Listo las actualizaciones se empiezan a realizar

| keyboard unable to eliminate fn keys |

I had ubuntu 12.04 (I think that what ir was) and I ran lite t from a usb stick. Everything was working fine - no keyboard problems. So I installed Lite 5 to replace ubuntu 12.04.
However, I now cannot use all the keys on my keyboard - I am unable to find a way to get out of the fn keys (small keyboard, no keyboard numbers pad). I have tried the usual key combinations: n+esc, fn+page UP, + page down etc. Luckily, I can log on without problem keyboard works as it should. However, once I am logged on and in the full install I have the problem.
In the systems Information it says the keyboard is an AT Translated Set 1 keyboard (if that means anything to you!).
Should I try to reinstall. Personally, I have run out out of ideas.
Edit: I have just run Lite 5 from the Live USB stick and I now notice that in fact, the FN keys are "stuck" so that I cannot use all the alphabetical keys as FN has blocked them and are displaying the numbers pad instead.
Edit: I have just run Lite 5 from the flask USB again and I now notice that in fact the keyboard does not work properly s the FN keys are "stuck" on so that L=3, K=2 and J=1 etc. I cannot find a way to unstick the FN keys.
Machine is a Lenovo Ideapad G465 laptop, originally windows 7 home. now dual booting with Win 7.
Windows seven is working correctly in all ways so the issue must lie somewhere with Linux Lite 5.
Many thanks in advance.
foxcub.
