So I want to download steam but when the package install window opens and asks for my password I cant type in the window. It doesn't even recognize the keyboard (laptop) ??? Any body have the same problem??? Cant live without STEAM

The video below (from PuppyLinux) illustrates this but here it is in three steps.

1. Install LL 2
2. Run system-updates (no reboot)
3. Install drivers (reboot)

It seems installing the Broadcom drivers without rebooting after the initial system-update will prevent the system-update process from breaking the wireless drivers.

This approach worked here but will it work for other hardware? I have no way to test this. Can anyone confirm this works?

I had this game sense last mouth, and i had Windows 8.1 on this computer. i always love linux and so i install linux lite 2.0 32-bit. this game you have to install origin will i install origin and now it install (i install the patch on playonlinux) i also got the night life and high end life (this is The Sims 3 Start Pack) how can i install the two Sims games you have to have The Sims 3 install to play it. I have a problem with the powersaving. The screen goes blank, but should be turned off. Been trying everything under Power manager.
Any suggestions?

I know that most people love this player, I am one of the few that is not enamored with it (for example it is hard to get it to play .mkv files or HD movies)

Is it possible to replace it as the default player with another one on my system?

My system has frozen up/lockedup twice in the last week probably from trying to do too many things at the same time, it's not a worry.

But what the problem is that I really don't know what to do - in Win I used to hit ctrl/alt /delete and there fix the problem. I have tried I few things on LL (ctrl/alt/bckspace etc) but the best result has been a redirection to the terminal...then I have no idea how to proceed.

A GUI interface similar to the one on Win would be helpful to dummies like me...

I want to add trash can to my wbar dock

I need a command to use in wbar-config that will open trash:///

I am mounting an external hard drive with the label CNM DRIVE, which I use for local backups.  When I mount it by right-clicking the desktop icon or by navigating to it in Thunar, it is mounted with a path that includes a folder named CNM DRIVE. For instance, this is the path to the drive's Documents folder:
/media/bobw/CNM DRIVE/Documents/

I cannot find a way of replicating this mount using a command line in the terminal or the root crontab.  When I mount it this way, I get, for instance, the path:
/media/bobw/Documents/

I want the path to be consistent (preferably including the CNM DRIVE folder).  Can anybody help, please?
