I follow Puppy Linux World You Tube channel via RSS to watch his Linux Lite videos. Today he posted "Hi all with all the youtubers having their accounts terminated and I have had a strike myself I have decided to upload a daily WoW video until my account either gets terminated or my strike is lifted ..." in December. :'( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qs7HFolG...MSb53fFpqw I had heard him mention this before but had not paid much attention to it. He said it was due to one of his Linux videos.
I did some searching on the internet. I think a flag is a strike. I read/watched that if you get three copywrite violation complaints (flag) was made by the copywrite owners you are banned from posting on You Tube for life. To prevent this after the first complaint, you can take a You Tube class then after 6 months have the flag or strike removed. Or you can get the copywrite owner to remove the flag if they wanted. I think I understood this information.
If I misunderstand, please enlighten me. If I understand correctly, how could you get a flag or strike over a Linux distro video review since it is open source?

| [SOLVED] Slow Recordings and Playback in Audacity |

Hi
I occasionally record from my system's stereo mix with Audacity, radio shows etc. Up until recently I'd been using LL 1.08 but have upgraded to 2.0. Now, however, Audacity records and plays back recordings slowly. I have tried various settings, sample rates and so on but nothing seems to correct the problem. As it worked perfectly in 1.08, I'm wondering if the issue is with 2.0 or Audacity.
Does anyone know what version of Audacity was in LL 1.08 and if different, could this be re-installed to see if the fault lies with the 2.0.5 version of Audacity?
Incidentally version 2.06 is now available on the Audacity website but I believe you have to compile it yourself from the tar.xz file, which as a relative newcomer to Linux I'm not too sure about.
I'd be interested to see any suggestions or if anyone has had similar problems.
Regards
dby

Ever since I changed from the Mac environment to Linux, I have been wanting to find a simple and quick way to save video snippets from video files that I have (avi, mov, mp4, mkv).
Is there anyone out there that actually does this with any success? On the Mac I used MPEG Streamclip with great success. I have been trying to install the latest Avidemux with no success. I tried compiling it from their website. I have also tried installing from ppa when I searched google. Doesn't work.
I am using Linux Lite 2.0. I just want a simple and straightforward way to select snippets from a video file and save those snippets to my HD.
I have tried the following:
Code: avconv -i input.mkv -ss 00:27:20 -t 00:33:40 -c copy output.mkv
This works but I am not sure what would be a quick way to scrub the video so I could quickly identify the start and end markers. Right now I am using VLC player to search for what I want to mark. Pretty cumbersome. Is there an easier way?
Thanks so much!

Hello everyone!
Linux Lite was my main (and first!) linux OS 2 or 3 years ago. I even won a competition about a year ago, loved it. Since then I've used a lot of distros, finally ending up at Arch, which I've used for about 9 months now. Arch has eventually got kind of annoying, I'm tired of constantly struggling to get certain things working, so I decided to come back to my roots (with my tail between my legs lol). Lite has changed since I got it, I'm loving the whisker menu 8)
I look forward to being part of this community
-Dan
