...in both YouTube videos and VLC.  YouTube vids also tend to pause on their own.  Easy enough to restart by clicking anywhere on the time bar.  YT vids are NOT buffering, just pausing randomly and will not restart on their own.

Fresh install of LL 2.2 on Kingston SSD.  No issues with this in 2.0.  (Once I get this figured out, I'll install on my HDD.)

svg is the way to go...cleaner lines, crisper results. On this example went outside the box. Normally would fill the voids with color and texture. This time concentrated on the stroke...got it to this level using the BRL filter. The goal was to create a red chrome effect on the stroke using an HDRI Emap and some settings adjustments...ran the filter and this is what came out. Not quite the result aimed for...only didn't have the heart to delete it.

As Spatry mentioned in his review of 2.2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMYaLO9B...tube_gdata  and others on this forum including me prefer a dark theme because it is easier on the eyes. The dark theme on the earlier versions was one of the things which originally attracted me to Linux Lite.

Could a dark theme like BleuFear* could be offered in the next version? Also maybe it could be offered as an update to Install Additional Software until the next version?

I have learned various ways to find and install themes now but did not know how when I started using Linux permanently in January 2014. Other newbies may not know how to find and install other themes that are not included.

* I copied it from Spatry's Manjaro but is also available here http://m4xm4n.deviantart.com/art/BleuFea...-271798366

Greetings to all from the little town of Burnt Chimney, Virginia.

I have been a Linux user since 2006 and have never looked back. I am a old user (67) but a noobie in the terminal and other stuff (I can really get myself in trouble rather quickly).  I started out with Ubuntu (dropped out after Unity), went to Linux Mint (dropped out after they dropped XFCE [never did cozy up to Cinnamon or MATE]), moved to SolydX (dropped out after the last update [messy] and their announcement), went back to LM as they brought back XFCE, but a friend told me about Lite and this really feels right.  Big Grin

Blessings to all !!

Don

I've now installed LL2.2, 32 bit, on an elderly Dell Optilex SX280, using a Samsung monitor with 1280x1024 resolution, but I can't set the display resolution to anything higher than 1024x768.

I know that the PC is capable of supporting higher resolution, and it appeared to deliver 1280x1024 satisfactorily in Windows XP.

The BIOS is the latest one available for the machine (I don't know whether this could be relevant). The machine has an Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Integrated Graphics Controller.  I have downloaded the "Graphics Installer 1.0.7 for Ubuntu 14.04, 32 bit" from:  https://01.org/linuxgraphics/downloads
and followed the process outlined in the Release Notes at:  https://01.org/linuxgraphics/downloads/2...inux-1.0.7 .

When I ran the installer, it took several minutes, reporting progress as it went, so it seemed to install new drivers successfully.  I was very hopeful at this stage, but it didn't make any difference.  Following a suggestion picked up from another forum, I have also done "sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg".

The Additional Drivers tab in Install Drivers still shows "No additional drivers available".

I don't know how, or whether it is possible, to take it any further. Any suggestions, please?

System report attached.

I mentioned to my partner that the OS running on her Laptop ran second in the Package Hit ratings recently (and thought to self ... I knew this would happen with this release Smile) she replies "I heard about it on the radio the other day" I think the car radio in her car is set to 2WS ... a popular Sydney FM station.
