Linux Mint ships with Google's Noto fonts
Posted by: Mike - 12-07-2014, 11:47 PM - Forum: Off Topic - Replies (6)

I recently read that the newest LM now ships with Google's Noto fonts. I looked into it and and I can see why. The aim of the fonts is to support all of the world's languages. Personally, I like the way they look too. Check 'em out if you want: www.google.com/get/noto.

And because I'm addicted to Thunar's custom actions, I made one for installing fonts.

Description: Move fonts to ~/.fonts
Command: mv %N ~/.fonts
File Pattern: *.ttf;*.otf;*.ttc

I have tried to put the feed from this forum on my own website, but it does not work. I have used this code https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/index...l;type=rss

I use Wordpress and RSS Widgets.

[SOLVED] Shutdown dialogue window delay before it appears
Posted by: danrael - 12-07-2014, 03:28 AM - Forum: Start up and Shutdown - Replies (2)

Linux Lite 2.2

Once 'Turn Off Computer' is clicked, there is about a 45 second delay before the Shutdown/Reboot/Logout dialogue window pops up on the screen.  I can find no setting to adjust this.

Hello all,
It's probably been asked already but I can't find the answer:

Is it possible to get either Firefox or Chrome to launch automatically on boot-up of LL 2.0?

  [SOLVED] Mariadb 10.1
Posted by: baboo - 12-06-2014, 05:16 PM - Forum: Installing Software - Replies (5)

Hi,

I am having problems installing mariadb 10.1. I get an error msg that says it has unmet dependencies but doesn't say what they are. Has anyone installed 10.1 and can point me to guide on how its done? BTW: I can install mariadb 5.5 in repos with no problem.

thanks
