Hi,

I have just installed LL 2.2 on a new Intel based mini PC.
I have it connected directly to a monitor(input #2) via HDMI
The monitors got 2 HDMI inputs, input #1 is my main PC.

If I use the the monitors "switch source input" I can switch between the 2 PC's,
However If I switch from the "New" PC to the other PC and back I loose the
"New PC's" Desktop, I go back and it's black.
If I do a crt alt f3, I can get a system prompt and do a restart of the Desktop.

The other PC is fine, I can go back to that and it's fine, that is running LL 2.0

So the new PC does not like having it's HDMI output switched.

It's not screensaver/display settings in LL 2.2,
I can leave the New PC connected to display for periods of time, screen goes blank
move mouse, tap keyboard and it's back.

Any ideas welcome. (inxi -F below)

Thanks... Dave

users with LL2.0 are being blocked from  upgrading due to broken repos.
I suggest having links for 2.0 users facing this issue

Hello all, I hope this is in the right section.

I'm currently running LL 2.2 on a 8gb usb pen, and in an effort to save some space; I have installed a large app (TTS Voice) to an SD Card. When I come out of standby, I am asked for admin password to allow the SD Card to remount. Removing and re-inserting the SD Card automatically remounts it without a password.

I've unsure if this behavior is normal or due to having the app installed on the SD Card and causing the remount request.

Can someone suggest a way for the SD Card to be automatically remounted when coming out of standby mode?

I'm trying to install LL2.2 on my 10 year old laptop running XP. The problem is that the dvd/cd driver in XP is corrupt and nothing can get it it working. So I have tried install using a USB flash drive. The BIOS is set up to boot from 'removable device' but everytime I start up up it just goes and reloads XP!
Is there a way to get LL2.2 to install on this laptop by running it from within Windows or has anyone any idea how to overcome this issue?
thanks

hello

recently got a refurb laptop with W7. had problems with mouse pad so installed W8 which i have on my PC not realising i only had licence for 1 machine. got mail from microsoft informing me i had to buy a new licence. as i was working out what to do microsoft uninstalled W8 on the laptop which now shows a blank black screen and nothing else.

saved linux lite to USB and plugged into laptop hoping to get free install but won't boot and screen still black.

any suggestions?

chancing my arm here, i have to say i'm mighty displeased with the fact linux spammed my machine with a load of difficult to get rid of pop ups, toolbar hijackers and the like. what is this? i thought you people were ethical. very bad PR.

your download instructions are not clear and so far i wd rate microsoft over linux in the front of house stakes. let's hope the OS is better or same as W8 about which i have no complaints apart from price and corporate roots.

Recent install of 2.2, I have three accounts on the computer and have auto login disabled, the computer goes to the login screen on start up, two of the users have to type in their password to get access to their account, my account, the administrator one, clicking on my name takes me into my account without me typing my password, I've tried the disable auto login on the menu but just get a message that it can't be done a second time. Now I assume I have to access the configuration files and modify them but I'm not sure what command I need or what to change, can you people advise please.

With Lite 2.2 my 10 numbers key pad works to type in my password when starting Linux but not afterwards. On an Acer Aspire 5740. Num lock is on.

Thanks, Bart
