As a result of installing an update a handful of days ago, I now have to use a password to log into my account. Would any of you know if there's a default password for non-admin users? If there is please let me know. If there is not please tell me how without the use of another computer I can reinstall Linux light.
Debian 12 (bookworm) has arrived.

Hey,
I'm on Linux Lite 5.8.
The installed version of gnu make is 4.2.1 but the latest gnu make version is 4.4.1.
Is there a simple way to install this latest version without it being to compile from source?
I found this stack overflow post https://askubuntu.com/a/1386772/1326 which seems to point to a deb package for 4.3.
This seems to be quite simple on a mac using brew.
Hello all,
I've just installed LInux Lite 6.2
I removed Google-Chromium as a application - and noticed the icon for it was still in the bottom menu bar.
I double-clicked on it to make sure there was no program associated with it - and that was confirmed.
So I wanted to remove the icon.
I right-clicked on the Google-Chromium icon and selected remove - and the whole menu got removed OUCH!!!
I suspect it is an XFCE object.
How do I restore it?
Sincere thanks!
This is my first time on a linux system, so I'm pretty new to this

Hi, I've set up a Linux Lite 6.4 machine - kernel updated to latest -> 6.3.5 (Running on an old Dell Vostro 400 PC with a ntel® Core2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz proc, a 256Gb SSD for OS, an 8Tb Seagate HDD for media file storage and 4Gb RAM). The machine works fine and servers up the files as UPnP/DLNA just as desired but it becomes unresponsive after a day or two. I haven't made any changes to the LL power options (Sleep mode etc. are not turned on by default). Does anyone have any suggestions on things to try? :dft003:
Thanks!
UPDATE - I have several PCs of the same type and have been able to replicate the issue on a different system. I set up LL6.4 on it, installed Gerbera (sudo apt install gerbera), moved some media files to the machine and confirmed UPnP/DLNA was working and streamed video to a smart TV on my LAN. Then I let the system sit overnight and this morning the power light is still on but the UPnP/DLNA server is no longer visible on the LAN and the PC is no longer responsive to keyboard or mouse input either.
