Hello to all members of the forum!
I have been using Linux Lite, and please, help me,my bluetooth is not working.
I can't send files to my computer.
Thank you in advance.
Hello,
Trying to get a few Virtual Box machines set up to complete my new office set up, and have encountered problems I haven't run into before. In a Win XP box (only OS that runs my printer...) I cannot get my printer recognized, and for some reason this time I cannot get USB devices recognized by the guest OS.
I went into Synaptic to see if anything was missing, and I guess that the guest utilities are not installed - but I cannot install them because virtualbox-guest-x11 package is broken.
Since I know LL is supposed to curate the Virtual Box software, and I haven't had problems doing this earlier, I thought I should ask here rather than trying to look for a generic answer - can anyone help?
The other day I accidentally left my PC on while I went out for a long day out with the family.
I had inadvertently left it logged on to the LL forum for the whole day... :
As a result, when I returned home and checked my PC, my status on the LL forum had changed
from a regular visitor to I come here a lot!
Ha!

I have set-up a new Wi-fi network on the router I normally use.
LL now asks me for the router's security key each time I want to go on the internet.
How do I avoid this, i.e. having to type in the key each time and instead embed the
security key in LL for auto-logon to the internet?
This problem has not occurred before, as this is the first time I've created a new network
after LL has already been installed.
Many thanks for any help with this
Mike
As in Windows OS, and at least one distro that I know of (Zorin 9), there is an option to mouse-click on for safe removal of USB storage devices.
For example in Zorin 9, at the file manager window, I right-click on the icon for the USB device concerned and a drop-down box will appear - one of the options in this box is safely remove hardware. When I click on this option the device activity ceases (as you would expect), reflected by it's blue indicator light going off.
In LL2.8 the options in the drop-down box mentioned above, include unmount and/or eject - either one separately , or unmount followed by eject, don't appear to stop activity of my external USB drive, i.e. the USB device's blue light stays on. To make LL newbie-proof could we have this safely remove hardware option at some future date? Obviously I don't want to remove a storage device until it is turned off as I may lose any data still being written...
In the meantime is there a terminal command to safely remove hardware?
Thanks
Mike
Hi, I am new to here. Just wondering if there is any way to set up auto update? Currently I need to manually select the "Install Updates" menu to update the software.
I've tried the following suggestion using cron-apt and anacron but still doesn't work.
