Hi,

I just upgraded Linux lite from 2.8 to 3.0

Previously, I could print word document to Epson L355 in Linux Lite 2.8
Now, after upgrade to 3.0, the driver can not be installed via Synaptic Package Manager. When I marked the  "epson-inkjet-printer-201207w" then there is a message "could not mark all packages ....."
OR
another way, I have tried to add the printer via  "configure printer' menu, however, the installed driver is not for L355.  Sad

If you have any ideas or hints how to install it, please let me know.

Thanks,

Syaiful

Okay, here's the deal.

After installing LL3.0 i added my own language to Language acc this: https://www.linuxliteos.com/manual/install.html#setlang.

I moved my language to the top, pressed Apply system-wide buttons on both tabs and did a reboot. Instead of changing ALL entries to my native language, i'm now stuck with a system which is partially Dutch and partially English.

How can this be fixed? Or is this a bug? And beside that, why is LL not able to set language right in the first place, like during the setup when you have to select your native language. All other *buntu and *buntu-based distro's are capable of doing so, but LL is the only distro not capable doing this??

But the question remains:
How can this be fixed? Or is this a bug?

Thanks!

Will be installing LL 3 to a Samsung 850 evo ssd. Do I still need to follow the enabling trim guide in the help manual? Or will LL 3 setup it automaticly?

Hi All!

I'm new to this Distro, but have used Ubuntu 11.10 on my 12 year old HP Pavilion ZE4900.  Well it didn't run well because an Intel Celeron 1300MHZ processor and 512mb of RAM.  I'm really hoping the Distro will meet my needs for now till I get another newer laptop with better hardware.  I look forward continuing to learn Linux under this Distro.

.... then note that this worked perfectly (with nano) right after a LL 3.0 install onto a disk that only had Windows 7 beforehand:

I'll say right off that my 2.8..upgraded from 2.6....from 2.4...was running fine. I thought, what the heck, i'll wipe the SSD and try the brand new shiny 3.0. Big mistake...the install worked but the startup on this version is 30 seconds. My 2.4/2.6/2.8 version was 5 to 6 seconds.

getting to the desktop and functionality seems the same but man is it slow to get there...can someone shed some light on why its so slow? Are there any tweaks that can get this thing up and moving like before?

thanks

To celebrate the release of Linux Lite 3.0, I'm running a competition to see who can guess the closest to the actual figure, the number lines of code the Linux Lite devs have produced since the beginning of the project.

The winner will be announced here and on Social Media - 1st July, 2016.

Entry is very simple. Simply register on the Forums and put your guess into your post.
Linux Lite Devs cannot enter (for obvious reasons)

I'm going to run a poll too just for fun, to see if people can guess the range.

The winner will get the following sent to them anywhere in the world:

- 1 each of Linux Lite 3.0 DVD's in 32bit and 64bit, hand signed by me.
- 1 each of Linux Lite 3.0 USB's in 32bit and 64bit.
- 2 of each of all the stickers in our range.

You can view these prizes here - https://www.linuxliteos.com/shop.html

Good luck and I hope you have fun with this!

This might be of concern. Just thought I would post it.
