In the same way Create System Report was updated, we are bringing few updates (specially in the backend) to Install Updates. We've moved from gksu to pkexec which allows users to run the application from within any account as long as the user can authenticate as admin:





And we are also giving Lite Updates listing an HTML output, matching the layout with that in System Report to keep it uniform.


 

I had the urge tp try fulscreen on the intro window (install updates drivers etc) now I don't know how to exit, I can't find anywhere shortcuts I can find a menu anywhere to disable fullscreen, please help.

Recently my computer does not seem to load everything properly on start up. when I view photos it seems to only display 256 colors.  It used to happen only occasionally,, and would go away if I reboot the computer, but lately it seems to do this every time.

I would like to remove unwanted items in my Whisker menu but have failed so far. I have tried looking through the manual but must have missed the entry i wanted. So could anyone help me please. Thanks

My preferred desktop appearance includes a right side vertical panel but I need a width of about 40 pixels. I also like the Desktop Widget but cannot see a way to change its alignment so as a result part of its output is hidden behind the panel. Is it possible to move the Widget I wonder?

Wanted to share with you one of the next updates coming down the pipe in the next few days; Create System Report. Create System Report is part of lite-software. It is one of the few scripts that hasn't seen an update for quite a while so we decided to give it a little love

The upcoming version will allow users to select the parameters to create reports on, and reports will be generated in HTML this time around.



By default all parameters will be selected (although we are considering to deselect a couple of them by default).

Some screenshots below of the reports the application now generates:







The application now tries to identify whether the OS is running in a virtual environment, preventing reports from adding rubbish info about some specific parameters in the system:



And well, a Save dialog  to save the HTML generated report

does anyone know how to resize so that it fit on the screen ?
Dragging the sides does nothing, dragging the corners resizes it 4mm smaller in width, it need to be approx.
5cm smaller in width.

I am having this problem with a range of software not fitting the screen (being too wide).
The only one I have managed, just about, to resize to fit so far is, Gimp.

What is this version of LL that I have on my ageing laptop - is it 3.2 or 3.4? Alas, /etc/llver says it's '3.0'. I sigh and re-download fresh new 3.4 iso. I run the Live and check llver and, yes, it's still '3.0'.  Is there a separate utility for disclosing the full version number??
