I had a blank password so I wouldn't see any message when I opened the browser. Now I see one after every boot. It doesn't matter that I leave it blank.

New to Linux and Linux Lite. I am having some installation problems, so that is why I am here.

I deleted Public and Template folders.
Now I'm getting a pop up that reads:"Update Standard Folders to Current Language
You have logged in in a new language.
You can automatically update the names of some standard folders in your home folder to match this language.
The update would change the following folders. Popups    Templates.
Note that existing content will not be moved.
Keep Old Names    or    Update Names"Now my google password isn't accepted?
Have I been hacked or did I mess something up? I'm 78 so anything is possible.
Note: I logged in on a second laptop and the popup was in what looked to be an oriental language.

I'm newbies in linux and found out Linux Lite and  I think I'll love this Distro

I hope you don't mind if I post what  I was thinking in my first login :
1. what do you think if the height of dockbar a little bit more taller
2. The Default menu font size, I think it's a little bit too thicker
but the Idea how the menu was organized is very very  Cool :045: for newbies I'm really really love the file manager way  :048:

If you allow me to post, next time I'll write you what I see in this Distro and hopefully it can make some contribution for you, but once again I'm newbies so please forgive me if I'm wrong  and sorry for my bad English.

Hi All, new here and confused. :59:

i downloaded and installed linuxlite onto my laptop. I'll be honest I'm hopeless at computers and generally don't use the laptop.

Today I fired it up to play around with it and i noticed that CHROME was requiring an update. Naturally I clicked the "update" icon and whilst it downloaded fine enough; I found, to my dismay, that I was expected to enter a password for the update to be installed.

The application requesting the password seems to be some sort of linus download/install manager.

As I say, I don't generally bother with the laptop as my efforts online are like that of most and can easily be handled with my phone.

My question is this- Does anyone know how I can change the password or do away with it all together?

Hi, wasnt sure where to put this so im putting it here.

Be aware im new to linux been using windows 20+ years but decided to shift over to linux, so the problem i was having was installing updates i kept getting a message saying 'dpkg was interrupted, you must run 'dpkg -configure -a to correct the problem.'  Well that in itself is a problem and the reason for this post that command didnt work because it was meant to be '--' not '-' 20 minutes of life are now gone figuring that one out , so id post this incase someone else who's new to linux might have the same problem

Mein Bruder hatte mein Laptop gehabt und hat zuerst linux mint installiert auf die windowsfestplatte und die auch Komplett formatiert. Dann wollte er linux lite instalieren aber dies ging völlig in die Hose die installation funktionierte nicht.
Der Laptop hat nur eine Festplatte.

Ich habe schon versucht mit usb und iso Datei zu flashen, Erfolglos.


Wie schaffe ich denn windows wieder drauf zu bekommen?
