What can I do to better the sound quality and stop the choppiness while using Bluetooth.?
It works well under Win10.
I am running LinuxLite under Legacy on my Dell i5755 Laptop.
EDIT: it sounds good through regular laptop speakers and is not choppy.
What's up with the Bluetooth?

Every time I try to install Linux Lite the installer gets stuck and just says "Creating user..." while the mouse pointer spins around.
The first few times I tried the box at the bottom of the installer window kept showing lines that said something about "ufw block" and a mac address like the firewall was blocking something, so the next couple of times I turned the firewall off.
After that it still wouldn't work.
The box says stuff about entering a password (really? i mean, i'm not even supposed to see whats in the box to know it's asking for one right?) and encryption and it just sits there fooooorreeeeeever.

I have just bought an Arduino kit and i'm awaiting delivery. I would like to ask other forum members how they downloaded and set up the software for Arduino. I did have a look in Lite Software but there was no mention of arduino.
I am running the 64bit version of Linux Lite.

NOTE: Lite Sources does not include Ubuntu repositories or software. This is only for Linux Lite created applications eg. Lite Software, Lite Welcome, Lite Tweaks etc.
New Search engine for the Help Manual - The Linux Lite Help Manual has received the long awaited search engine. This is the culmination of 4 free software projects rolled into one.
The search engine has been designed in such a way that the end result produces an easy to understand UI. The search engine is available both offline and online and is mobile/tablet friendly. See the online version here - https://www.linuxliteos.com/manual
1. Each page has a Search box directly below each pages contents menu, near the top of the page. Type in your search query.
TIP: For optimal results, only search for one or two words eg. nvidia instead of how do I install nvidia drivers

2. Click on the link in the search results.

3. When you arrive at the page that you clicked on, the search engine will automatically scroll to the first instance of that word, and it will also highlight in yellow every instance of that word on that page.

Image magic Malware on 3.4

Hello folks,
Yesterday plugged in a usb drive with some type malware that took over my LL 3.4 64. Pretty sure it was this drive that started the problem. I saw an application running called image magic. It took over my settings and everything before I could shut down. After restart all of my settings had been changed. I found out this application is being used as a backdoor for other malware.
After reinstall from DVD notice the application is pre-installed in synaptic.
Should I bother to repair drive or should I save me a lot trouble and get new hdd?
Thanks
Shannon

Lite Tweaks task grouping

I just ran Lite Tweaks as I do regularly. I happened to accidentally select a task I didn't want to. I had check marked "Bootup Fix" by mistake. This is primarily due to my older age and deteriorating vision. I always double and triple check my selections before I "Begin" the processes so I caught the mistake before running the tasks. This is the second time I have caught a mistake.
My suggestion would be to group the tasks by risk factor. Maybe the "Safe" tasks could be listed first, then the "Caution" tasks second. Separating them would be even better and maybe a cautionary note could be included before the tasks in the "Caution" group. New users to LL might not fully understand the risk involved, especially if the user happens to be a casual computer user who just switched from Windows.
Not sure if that would even be possible, but it occurred to me when I caught my mistake this time.

VirtualBox running Mint 18.2

After installing VirtualBox using Lite Software, setup Mint 18.2 and when I started it, got an error messag that a permission problem with /dev/vboxdrv It then says to install virtualbox-dkms package and load kernel module by executing 'modprobe vboxdrv as root.
Did this and the package will still not run. Uninstaled and reinstalled Virtualbox and still no headway. What am I missing.
Running on Dell Precision M4500 i7 with 8gb ddr3 ram.
Systems runs LL3.4 very well and I was hoping to use Virtualbox with this as it was in the Lite software and hopefully ready to run after installation. :-[

I just got this laptop and it does have Windows 10 installed under UEFI.
Can I install LinuxLite if I were to WIPE WinBlows from the drive?
Just disabling UEFI and Secure Boot?
I wanted to do a dual boot, but if it's not possible, then I will wipe Win10 out.
I really don't care for Windows as I have not ran it since the release of Win8.
But still some programs I run require Windows or Mac to run them. I have a
Mac, but I was going to sell it.
What are my options?
Or do I go back to Mint XFCE?
EDIT: I just booted up into the Live 3.2 edition and tried connecting my wifi and the security option only offers WEP!
What?? Where is WPA??
