  Problem with running privoxy
Posted by: meggriffinsux - 08-24-2023, 05:21 AM - Forum: Installing Software - No Replies

Hi there. I am using Linux for the first time, and I was trying to run privoxy on my laptop. I ran the command for update and upgrade, and used the command: apt install privoxy -y

It doesn't create a config file so when I try to run privoxy config I get:
/ect/privoxy/config does not exist

I tried following someone's video for using privoxy and I can't seem to get past installation.. If this isn't how you (the reader) set up and run proxy's, how do you (reader) do it? If there is something I'm missing please let me know. I would like to know how to download privoxy the right way.

        Thank you

  Sky Charts install
Posted by: billtour - 08-22-2023, 06:08 PM - Forum: Installing Software - Replies (28)

I'm trying to install Sky Charts (Carte du Ciel) in a new install of v.5.8 of L.L.  First of all, what should I look for in the long list of possible downloads of software? .Deb?  ,Tar? The .Deb seems to not get started installing.  The .tar tried .  I can supply error messages. Thanks for the help.

Can a startup application start up in workspace 2 instead of workspace 1?
Posted by: johnnyboy5000 - 08-19-2023, 08:32 PM - Forum: Desktop Customization - Replies (1)

Is there a way to have a startup application start up in workspace 2 instead of workspace 1? I would really like not to see the start up application qjackclt, but I need it for my jack pulse audio setup.  I know I can just click workspace 2 and do all my work from there, but it would be cool to have qjackclt start up in workspace 2. Thanks.

NASA lied to us. The Earth, our home, is really flat and stationary/non-moving. If you watch both flat earth proof videos above, you will realize this.

LL install hangs at Updates and other software
Posted by: kpc1974 - 08-12-2023, 08:50 PM - Forum: Installing Linux Lite - Replies (4)

Hello!

I'm brand new to Linux and am installing 6.4 for the first time on an old Dell Inspiron 1564, i3 HM55, 8 Gb RAM, 1Tb SSD (newly installed), ethernet connection. Using a Direct Install from USB, it hangs up during "Updates and other software." I unchecked "Install third party software," but it continues to hang up. When I try to install the updates from the Updates Window, I get the following message:
