Minimized Windows not Showing Up On Panel

When I minimize a windows, shouldn't it be shown on the bottom panel? So you can click on it to bring it up?
It's not happening on my setup. I often "lose" windows that way, and have to keep hitting alt + tab to find them again.
Thanks,
Mike

Power Management question on ver 4.2

WOW! Long time, no post! I can't believe how long it has been since I was on the forum and posted anything. I have checked in once in a while to read over a few threads, but I've been swamped with other issues.
So, with egg on my face, here is my question. I have a buddy that finally decided to give Lite a whirl. He downloaded and installed ver 4.2 and I just recently upgraded my install from ver 3.4 to ver 3.8 so I can't really compare my laptop to his desktop, version to version. I have absolutely ZERO problems which is probably at least one of the reasons I haven't been around on the forum. I've got ver 3.8 now on both my laptop and my wife's and both have been trucking along merrily for a year and a half with ZERO glitches.
Anyway, on with the question. My buddy had issues with Power Management on his install. He couldn't get his PC to sleep. By the way, he installed on a desktop PC, then manually added the Power Manager Plugin to the panel. He uses a Logitech wireless mouse that he wanted to keep tabs on then he also wanted to put his monitor to sleep since he leaves his PCs running 24/7. I have tried talking him through the issue via emails and texts. I have also searched the forum for similar problems. I can find no reference to anything similar so thought I'd just ask.
Has anybody experienced a problem with Power Management not wanting to put a monitor to sleep in ver 4.x, or for that matter, with any version? If so, how did you resolve the issue?
And hello Jerry and gang! 8)

"Disk write filters not supported"

Hello. I installed 4.2 today on my main laptop after having a great experience with 3.8 on an old laptop I use in the garage. After installation, on boot up a text message, "Disk write filters not supported", displays temporarily with the option to hit enter to continue. It subsequently proceeds to boot up without action from the user. It does not appear to have any effect on system performance after loggin in, only a slight delay during the boot up. Research reveals it as a bug, dating back several years, in the grub with several different solutions. I was wondering someone from the community has, or knows of, a preferred "correct" way to resolve, and more importantly the cause of it. Thanks.
