i386 package entries

I'm getting update errors on and off on 4.2 because of i386 packages. Are i386 packages supposed to be showing up in /var/apt/lib/lists/ I have Debian on another disk on the same machine and nothing specifically i386 ever shows up there. On LL sometimes updates run okay and go through the i386 stuff with no effect. Other times it throws errors on the universe i386 repo. I've repaired it a couple different ways and got updates to run okay. I'm using the default mirror for the US. The system has no other PPAs installed than the LL defaults. No firmware except the standard AMD GPU package, and the RTL2800 package. There are no MII errors on the hardware either. The source list is correct as well, I think, unless AMD64 is supposed to be specified. It's not differentiated in the Debian /etc/sources list file, but I'm not sure if Ubuntu does differentiate. The LL system runs very well, but those i386 files should not be in the /lists/ files.
one way complete reload udo rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists/*sudo apt-get update
another way with fix udo apt-get install -f
another way just deleted all the i386 package entries in /var/lib/apt/lists/and then run updates, but they returned after reboot of a successful update.
They still return no matter how I fix the situation, which seems indicative of an installer error during the original installation which went unreported, if they're not supposed to be there. If the i386 packages are not supposed to be showing up in /lists/ I'd like to remedy that, perhaps with lock or a blacklist or adding amd64 tag to sources. I'm used to Debian so I'm a little perplexed, as I've never had to deal with this kind of error on LL. Don't bother suggesting re-install. I don't roll that way, and I have too much time in this current installation already, on a machine which would never even install the 3.x series at all. I know this can be fixed I just can't figure it out safely. It is not the UEFI build, and neither is the Debian on the other disk.

Low disk space notification?

I find Linux Lite to be a great distro to give to friends and family with older hardware or who can't handle Windows (*cough* - viruses - *cough*). This means I'm frequently giving this to users who don't know how to maintain their own machines.
So I figured it might be nice to include a notification of some sort when disk space starts getting low so less technical users aren't as surprised when things start working....oddly.
From personal experience, I was thinking something like the following could be 'alerted' if free disk space gets below 1G:
Quote:Your disk is running low on space (currently on X left available) which may cause some tasks, such as installing updates, to fail. Please consider freeing up some space soon such as by running Lite Tweaks or getting rid of unnecessary files.
Any thoughts on this? (Assuming this hasn't already been suggested or implemented (I didn't see it when I searched.)
Thanks!
Jon-Mikel

Where do nautilus scripts go ?

Hello,
it says to add nautilus scripts here -
Code: ~/.local/share/nautilus/scripts/
there is no nautilus directory in the share directory, I have tried creating the nautilus directory in share directory, and the scripts directory inside this, nautilus doesn't pick up the scripts, (it doesn't add "scripts" to its right click context menu on a file in Documents directory of Home directory, so a script can be selected from this to run on the selected file/s).

How To Get The Default Whisker Menu Back?

As a result of messing up my Panel, I have lost the default start menu. I had deleted everything and then added icons as needed. Basically, started over. So I added the Whisker Menu, but it is different than what you get on install. The categories and apps are reversed for one thing, but even worse, the ability to see apps when you hover over the category is gone, you have to click on the category to see them. Is there a way to get the original back?

My skills as far as posting screenshots are not good. I have done it successfully, but recently when I tried, I had a problem. I took the screenshot, opened it in Gimp, which saved it as an xcf file, and I then tried to upload it to Box.com. However, Box doesn't accept that kind of file. I tried to convert it one they did accept, but I don't seem to have a tool to do with.
Can someone tell me the best way to upload a screenshot to the forum? I have searched the manual on this, as well as tutorials, but came up with nothing.
Thanks :-[

Hello again
I work in a educational institution and we have a classroom with 16 PC's with Linux Lite 4.2 installed. I have a problem, the students are changing the institution official wallpaper constantly, even with inappropriate photos.
I would like to block the possibility of change the wallpaper, or a solution that makes this official wallpaper sets when a new sessión starts (with a script)
¿Can you help me?
