I did see someone else had something similar to this, but it was not the same error message, so here's the one I just got. It looks to me like there's some sort of thing going on with Firefox, but anything else?

Given the problems I've had with the clamav installation, perhaps due to me incorrectly installing it in the first place, I thought maybe I should just try re-installing LL 4.8 over the existing one. I understand it is possible to overwrite it. My original install is on:
/dev/sda5 ext 4 206886 MB 2234 MB Linux Lite 4.8
I highlighted that and clicked - change and thus created the 206886 as "free space".
I got the Create Partition menu and clicked OK to the defaults below:
Type for the new partition: X LogicalLocation for new partition: X Beginning of this space
And clicked OK
It said to make sure to check the box to Format it, which I did. Then I clicked Install Now.
Then I got the message: ! No root file system. No root file system is detected. Please correct this from the partitioning menu.
Now I'm stumped. What should I do next to complete the overwrite?

I'm running L/L and just installed a new Windows 10 Pro Hard drive to do video editing.
If I go to Grub customizer no Windows OS is shown even if I make sure that the HDD is mounted in Disk.
The only way to select L/L is to go to my Boot order in the BIOS and select the hard drive that has it on it.
Is there a way to be able to select either hard drive at boot up from the screen?
sudo update- grub did not work. Windows never shows up.

I'm using linux lite from the flash drive that I originally installed with (because of continued problems logging in, per my previous post), and I'm trying to copy my entire home directory to an external hard drive, but many files and folders show up in file manager with an x, and when I try to copy them, I get a message saying "permission denied." So I tried doing it through terminal (I'm a beginner, but I know the basics), and I can't figure out how to access the home folder. It recognizes a parent folder called "linux," which, when I look in file manager, contains my home folder, but when I try to navigate to that with 'cd' in terminal, it doesn't exist.
Please help! Thanks for considering,
Arbor

Samsung LC10 notebook with XP
I am considering installing Lite on the above LC10 as a learning exercise and as a way of extending the life of the LC10; maybe even to reinstate the use of Bluetooth.
I don't know if dual boot would have any benefit. I would not be upset to see XP disappear into the sunset...
My LC10 is a smaller version of my laptop, and to that end the program AlwaySync synchronises the Win10 file system with the notebook via shared folders.
Providing the Win10 PC can see the shared folders it can sync with the LC10.
Apparently Alwaysync can use ftp but I have not tried that.
I was wondering if Win10 can 'see' a Lite file system to achieve the above?
Comments welcome relating to the general aims expressed above, good or bad.

When clicking on the Logout icon, the circular green one at the right hand end of Menu, I used to get a logout options window showing suspend, logout, shut down, re-start etc. Now it immediately closes my open applications and logs me out. This is a very recent install of LL4.8, updated.
I do have Power settings set to Suspend when I press the power button, and that works ok, but I'd like to know why the previous way no longer works.
I checked on another computer with LL4.6 and it works as usual, with options window.
many thanks in anticipation.

I have set my lite source to a Europe one, yet I did Updates this morning and it was from a US repository.
I went to change source back to the Europe one but the system told me that was already the default one. Why did it go to US this morning?
