Showing the window maximized (the default)




Showing what happens when the Open button is used, the up arrow moves up in the tree of your files for navigating them.

this problem occured a few times but i managed to fix it with fsck and one time i had to find the corrupted superblock (i don't remember how i did that).
im dual booting with windows 10 and another OS, linux was installed after windows 10 and the other OS after linux, when i boot up i get a black screen about not mounting home partition, sometimes i get to the login screen when using recovery mode but i can't login because home isn't mounted but most of the time when i boot it takes me to emergencay mode..Fsck didn't work and i tried a couple ubuntu fixes on the net to no avail. Please help.

When I use any text editor in Linux Lite (LL), pressing Shift reverts the keyboard Numlock state. I am used to selecting words of text with Shift and the numpad arrows keys, and the LL keyboard behavior is a bit of nuisance.

I wasn’t able to find anything in the LL forum or tutorials on this topic.

I have tried the following methods to change this keyboard behavior:

1) The file

I have a simple goal:  to download and install Google Earth in Lenux Lite so that I can open the program by clicking on icon or selecting it from a menu.  I have been unsuccessful in getting there.  I have searched the internet for instructions.  I have copied codes and pasted them into my terminal.  I have followed instructions on at least five webpages.  I have become frustrated.

Should I give up and return to Windows?

Ran the Driver install tool from Brother but it didn't give the Device URI as USB. I selected no when asked. Changed it to "usb://Brother/HLL2390DW but still wont see the printer. Checking on the CUPS:631 and it shows as USB now. Checked and the driver is installed.On the CUPS 631  it says to "Add device and driver" I select the device but not sure about the driver?Probably missing something simple but will only mess things up more if I keep farting around.I see three uninstaller scripts in the unzipped folder, not sure if they would be sudo bash etc. or not. I had ran the installer several times over top of the first, probably not helpful.
Starting to wish I had stayed with HP.Any ideas anyone?
Oh running LL 5.2 or 5.4 not sure. :-)

How do you make auto login apply to just one user.
In other words, when booting the computer, it should
default to auto login to one particular user and not other users.

Normally my systems rip through updates quickly. I noticed this one lagged a bit today.

linux-image-generic linux-libc-dev microsoft-edge-dev python3-pygments

Must have to do with the new themes available for Edge. That answers my question. On that note by the way, sign-on and sync now work with MS Edge for Linux.
