Problems with calibrate battery to display correctly percentage on Linux Lite
Posted by: arliccio - 06-19-2024, 01:33 AM - Forum: Other - No Replies

Hi there !

I bought a new battery shell to my old laptop. At the very hour of the purchase, I did the tip of charge it for 8 hours. Eventually the machine begun to suddenly shut down, even when the battery displayed 40% before the power off.

I already tried several times to drain the battery to zero and then charge it to 100% ― another tip I read at the forums.

Someone knows what can I do at the specific Linux Lite situation for calibrate my battery?

BTW, my battery features through "upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_BAT0" is the following:

Posted by: leclelrc - 06-18-2024, 03:58 AM - Forum: Updates - Replies (9)

Hi,

LinuxLite 6.6

Usually, when I start "Install Updates" and some updates are available, new window will open with list of updates, then I can chose to update...

Recently, this window is empty. I mean, there are updates and I can update, but I cannot see them before updating.

What can I do?
Thx

Hi. Please someone help with configuring Redshift. I'd been using SCT via the terminal but with the upgrade to LL7, that no longer works. I'd got the Redshift
configuration ok, until a recent update. Any thoughts and advice please?

How to change default desktop for all users
Posted by: MarieRivier - 06-13-2024, 03:45 PM - Forum: Desktop Customization - Replies (9)

Hello,
I work as a school IT in a French school and I want to recycle old Winshit computers using cool tool like Linux Lite.

I've already installed Linux Lite on 20 computers, linked all of them to the AD, created useful .desktop (for online Scratch, GeoGebra, Thonny...) and put them in the  /etc/skel/Desktop directory...

Now (even if I like its design) I want to replace the feather on the default desktop by our school logo.

I know its not in /usr/share/backgrounds cause I already tried it (maybe not enough)

Can someone help me with this?

install updates error - not enough free space
Posted by: JPablo_8 - 06-12-2024, 09:59 PM - Forum: Updates - Replies (2)

Hello,

I would appreciate if you can help me solve this issue. I know I need to eliminate those files from the .../archives/ directory but I am not sure if it's correct doing it manually or it's better to make it from the terminal. If it is the latter, how can I delete them using the 'apt autoremove' command?

No sound on Acer Chromebook 317 17.3" converted to Linux
Posted by: Mzee - 06-12-2024, 08:08 AM - Forum: Sound - Replies (1)

I have a 17.3" Acer Chromebook 317, converted to Linux Mint first of all. Worked well, except no sound (had to use a USB Card), and some of the keys didn't work. The main problem was overheating, 80c running videos. There is no fan, and no ventilation. Eventually I ended up with MX 23.2, Jasper Lake sound worked with pulseaudio . The heat problem remained, but was less than with Mint.
I have now installed Linux Lite 6.6. The keyboard all works, as does the Numpad, and the temperature is much lower. Unfortunately, there is no sound, and it can not find Jasper Lake. Volume Control (pavucontrol), and  alsamixer are there, but there is no sign of pulseaudio. Configuration is empty, no cards found. Sound works with a USB card.
It needs to find Jasper Lake. When first installed LL had a 5.15.? kernel. I changed it to 6.6 which MX had, but it made no difference.
Has anyone any suggestions?

B.T.W. I had to use the terminal to install "touchpad-indicator" because its no longer listed in the package manager, wonder why?
