hi there! I've installed Linux lite on a Toshiba satellite laptop and am having trouble getting the WiFi working, im rather new to Linux but have tried a few things but this time I've been beat (managed to get i all working on a different laptop!)

using the lshw -C network command its come up with the below....

The existing Linux Lite Manual will remain online and on your system until the end of Series 7, however, there will be no updates to it. In Series 8, the Wiki will become the default documentation. The Wiki is online only for now.

How do I know if my Windows PC has UEFI?

In Windows Search, type msinfo or msinfo32 and launch the desktop app named System Information. Look for the BIOS Mode item, and if the value for it is UEFI, then you have the UEFI firmware. If it says BIOS Mode Legacy, then that’s the firmware you’re running.

Secure Boot is supported, but unless you know exactly how to handle it, it is a P.I.T.A. at best so I am going to say...you must disable Secure Boot to enable stress free computing.

Login is automatic, no credentials are required. The image can be written to a 4gb or larger USB stick, or a writable DVD. Alternatively, you can use the dd command: sudo dd if=linux-lite-7.6-64bit.iso of=/dev/sdx bs=4M where 'x' is the letter of your usb stick. The Package Update Indicator on the system tray always says it's up to date. However, if I do a manual update, Linux Lite says there are updates available.

What is the use of the Package Update Indicator if it is not notifying me of new updates?

E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend. It is held by process 340788 (apt-get)
E: Unable to acquire the dpkg frontend lock (/var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend), is another process using it?
