Boot problems - have to use recovery mode every time |

Dear all,
I have a HP HP-Laptop-15-db0xxx which dual boots with windows 10 or Linux Lite 6.6
It defaults to Windows on boot.
I am running Linux-lite and Ununtu 5.15.0-107-generic
To get into Linux, I press esc, wait for the boot loader to pick it up, then F9 to go to the options menu.
I can chose windows, ubuntu or something else that I can't remember.
I chose Ubuntu, and then get an option to run 5.15.0-107, or its recovery mode, and an earlier package or its recovery mode.
The other package doesn't run, so I will delete it in tweaks.
If I boot straight into 5.15.0-107, it loads, but after I type in my password, the screen starts to flash and writhe, and is totally unreadable. After a while it goes dark, but the back light is still on. There is no sign of response to the mouse or the keyboard.
If I boot into 5.15.0-107 recovery mode, and change nothing, then exit recovery mode into Linux from that menu, everything works fine (although I do have to unplug my USB mouse and plug it in again or it doesn't see it.
I think the problem is the screen driver which loads after the password is entered. But I have no idea how to change it to the default one that I'm left with when I boot through recovery mode.
My explanation could be totally up the wrong path, so I would be very happy to hear from anyone who can help this. I'd like to default boot into LL, but I need to correct this error first.
lspci gives me (I hope its' helpful - this is the report after booting through recovery mode. I have no idea what driver is being used when it boots normally, as I can't see what's going on. Caps lock still works, so something is definitely happening; it's just that I can't see it.)

Now here with Windows 11 really am done with all the optimizations , restarts , group policy editor and stripping down system components just for privacy and speed. Stumbled across this build but before diving in. I need some pointers on how to get the same software for my devices.
AMD 4800H GPU + Nvidia 3050Ti
Universal x86 Tuning Utility
Fiio K5 Pro (DSD64/128/256 Mode, 32-bit Mode, Jriver Media Center, ASIO Driver)
MSI Afterburner + Riverturner (Overclocking 3050Ti, On Screen Display)
AMD 4800H GPU + Nvidia 3050Ti
In Windows under system > display > Graphics, adding the games .exe and selecting power saving (AMD) / high performance (nvidia). I am unsure how this works under linux and when does linux switch between , or are you limited to one , when when I force when app doesn't switch ...
Universal x86 Tuning Utility ( https://amdaputuningutility.com/ )
Under windows this program allows me control CPU Power/Temp limit/VRMs. I also use PBO Scalar and Core Offset. This is important because my LAPTOP is a locked BIOS, What programs are available for Linux?
Fiio K5 Pro
Music collection is mostly FLAC 16-bit but Vinyl DSD are WAV 32-bit converted and I'm not sure how Linux Audio works here. Windows audio panel with K5 drivers installed runs 32-bit 44.1Khz mode. Jriver Media Cetner takes over my device when I press play because of the ASIO drivers, does this work the same under Linux?
MSI Afterburner + RiverTurner
This app is staple over many many years and not sure how this works under linux, looking for overclocking and on screen display support for games

Where to download higan games |

I just installed higan for LL 6.6 and I had trouble finding games for it. I searched higan's tutorial and followed the directions: it said to select Library drop down box, then press Load ROM, I did this and my home directory came up. I searched all the files and couldn't find any .zip files for games. Do i need to download the games from a website?

I installed clementine and tried to play music and this came up: "Your GStreamer installation is missing a plug-in."
I followed the directions from the last post asking where to get plugins for clementine and it said to install Restricted Extras...then i tried clementine again and it still said the same thing; plus, after i installed Restricted Extras it crashed and continued to crash every time i started google chrome. So i had to reinstall Linux Lite 6.6.
Thanks for your time.

How do I know if my Windows PC has UEFI?
In Windows Search, type msinfo or msinfo32 and launch the desktop app named System Information. Look for the BIOS Mode item, and if the value for it is UEFI, then you have the UEFI firmware. If it says BIOS Mode Legacy, then that’s the firmware you’re running.
Secure Boot is supported, but unless you know exactly how to handle it, it is a P.I.T.A. at best so I am going to say...you must disable Secure Boot to enable stress free computing.
Some helpful snippets from the latest Help Manual:

Login is automatic, no credentials are required. The image can be written to a 4gb or larger USB stick, or a writable DVD. Alternatively, you can use the dd command: sudo dd if=linux-lite-7.0-64bit.iso of=/dev/sdx bs=4M where 'x' is the letter of your usb stick. In linux to find out the letter of your usb stick, open a terminal and type: df -h It is usually listed as 'media' or similar. Please see the built in Help Manual if you require a more detailed explanation of this procedure.
A good, simple point and click USB ISO burner is https://www.balena.io/etcher/ or https://rufus.ie/
In our testing, Etcher and Rufus (for Windows only) have proven to be the most reliable. Etcher is available for Mac, Windows & Linux.
If the screen locks during Live mode, type linux into the user box and click on the Login button (no password required)
Minimum Recommended Specs:
1Ghz processor
768mb ram
8gb HDD/SD
VGA screen capable of 1024x768 resolution
DVD drive or USB port for the ISO image
Preferred Specs:

1024mb ram+
20gb HDD/SSD+
VGA, DVI or HDMI screen capable of 1366x768 resolution+

What you might not know about Chrome in Linux Lite. Linux Lite uses the newest version of Chrome i/e security updates from the Chrome devs are immediate, while with some other distros like like Mint, RHEL, or even Debian, Chrome updates can lag for awhile. Chrome just dropped a security update yesterday which Linux Lite 7 received immediately. I haven't checked, but with MS Edge I'm not sure this is true unless you run the dev version. Many users support using other browser alternatives like Brave or Vivaldi because they believe they are more secure when in fact you can harden Chrome with privacy settings probably more than any other browser and those alternatives often lag behind with general security updates because they are usually discovered by the Chrome devs. I don't see any actual system security reason to use another browser. All TOR does is put you on the map for government security and privacy invasions. The ONLY reason I use Firefox is because I can run BASH scripts from html documents more easily which in fact is less secure.
