Here's a fix for the Mozilla PPA weak algorithm message during 'sudo apt-get update' in the Terminal.
Code: software-properties-gtk
Click on the Other Software tab and remove any Mozilla PPA's that are listed:
![[Image: hl9MVQ4.png]](https://imgur.com/hl9MVQ4.png)
Follow the onscreen instructions. Password, then Reload.
Then, again:
Code: software-properties-gtk
Remove any Mozilla keyrings.
Then, open a Terminal and do:
Code: sudo rm -rf /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mozilla*
Then do:
Code: sudo rm -rf /etc/apt/keyrings/packages.mozilla.org.asc
Code: sudo rm -rf /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/mozilla*
Code: sudo rm -rf /usr/share/keyrings/mozilla*
ignore any potentials errors in the Terminal.
Then do:
Code: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/ppa
follow the instructions.
Lastly:
Code: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Done
Will be fixed in 7.4

Shotcut in Lite Software needs update |

I downloaded Shotcut using Lite Software. First time user. After editing my first video, I continued to look at tutorial videos on Shotcut. Some features were being illustrated in older versions that weren't in the Lite Software version. One in particular was Open Other->Text. I thought maybe it had been moved to a different menu, but even the most recent Shotcut documentation mentioned adding text using Open Other->Text. Ultimately I downloaded Shotcut's latest version using their AppImage and I could see all the features I saw in video tutorials. I didn't want to go the AppImage route, but I couldn't get their *.txz file to export to the /opt folder using the CLI. I'm used to *.tgz, but I couldn't get the right tar options to extract *txz. In hindsight, i could have used the graphical File Roller to do it, but that slipped my mind.
I also installed AppImage Launcher so the program would show up in the Linux Lite Menu.
Just thought I'd mention this for the awareness of the developer(s).

[SOLVED]video problem with live session |

Is video driver weak when loading live session? I boot 7.2 on usb and my Dell monitor on a digital cable goes into sleep part way through loading.
It finishes loading as I get the do-de-doo but screen stays asleep even when moving mouse or keyboard.
Plugged in another monitor (Acer) on a analog cable, same video card.
Boot, digital monitor okay, analog asleep, digital goes to sleep part way, analog wakes up, after several minutes analog goes dark (not asleep, still green power light).
Both monitors blank. This is on a spare computer.
Tried my main computer and loads okay but the writing goes small for a bit but boots to a live session otherwise.
New years puzzle. :-) Thanks for any help, Wayne.
Edit: upon more reboots the analog monitor now stays on, digital monitor still asleep.

Install Brother HL-L2480DW printer |

I would be grateful for some help getting my new Brother HL-L2480DW printer installed (by USB) working on my computer (Linux Lite 5.4). I've followed the instructions to download driver and install on the Brother website (multiple times),every time it looks like it is set up, but the printer ALWAYS says idle and doesn't print. The printer functions because I can print a test page from the printer menu. I want to be able to print & scan (copy works fine). Why isn't there a USB option in the printer settings?
