Hi. I had this problem. I updated from 4.4 to 4.6 and this apparently fixed it. Thanks for the suggestions.

@ Firenice03

Thanks for that - by removing the ppa for qtcam I've got an update to occur without error messages. When I feel brave I'll try and rectify the qtcam problem.

Thanks again, I was loosing confidence in the whole Linux system

@petelobus

The PPA is giving you grief.. You can remove it and updates will work fine..

Choosing the correct PPA would alleviate the issue...

LL3.6 is based on Ubuntu 16.04.3 aka Xenial Xerus  --  the PPA is trying for /precise/ubuntu xenial/main =Both Precise and Xenial as seen in the link.. Which - Does not exist...
http://ppa.launchpad.net/qtcam/precise/ubuntu/dists/xenial/main/binary-i386/Packages

If you added ppa:qtcam/precise = this is incorrect.. The correct would be ppa:qtcam/xenial
See https://launchpad.net/~qtcam/+archive/ubuntu/xenial

PA Removal: Uncheck the offending PPA from "Software and Updates" under the "Other Software" tab..Then try running updates again..You can update from terminal or from Menu > Favorites > Install Updates

Also within the manual  https://www.linuxliteos.com/manual/software.html#pparem

That will be because it isn't - Lite 3.6 - I'm sure I never entered a software version when I signed up. Maybe I missed the place and the board picked up a default setting - Sorry again.

This doesn't look like the Linux Lite 4.x series.  It looks like the Linux Lite 3.x series.

Sorry, I thought I'd followed the guidelines for posting reports - toward the bottom of the guidelines. Is this better (which is the way I would have done it if I'd not read the guidelines!).

@petelobus ,

I'd rather not download your log.  Please revisit the forum posting guidelines to have your log added to the thread the way @bgaulke did.

Sorry, I'm new here, despite having been using Lite for a year or so. Not sure where I should post this. Just tried to update and got the attached log - I'm not even sure if Linux has been automatically updating - it worked straight after installing and I've just left it alone!

Thanks for your help
