Which BIOS and version is it ?
So the Linux Grub is installed now, or the Linux OS is installed, but it wont boot to the desktop, without using the usb stick ?Or are you doing this using the usb stick ?Have you checked the BIOS settings, set to "legacy" and not to UEFi ?Also disable "fast boot" in BIOS ?
I had some trouble last time and had much better luck by not checking "update during installation" and not including the third-party codecs. Adding them after installation was easy and didn't mess things up.
I was not reaching desktop with LL after installing it, but it did work on the Live disc.Is different computer, but here are the links of how it was solved -https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/installing-linux-lite/installing-ll-3-2/https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/video-cards/intel-530hd/Of which software did you make the USB Live ? - some software not so good for that.I used this free software for making Live Linux USB from a Windows computer many times, every time working correctly for me - https://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/files/Archive/win32diskimager-v0.9-binary.zip/download
May or may not be graphics card. Whatever blobs are available are all in the i915 bundle and the live disk installer should be able to deal with that. You said XP which means it is unlikely a UEFI issue unless you are 64bit. Early Celerons have issues as well. What is your CPU? Will the live system boot from the dvd or USB? Not speaking of the installer, rather the live LL system.TC
