Mhh looks like my last post didn't make it through

I deactivated the compositor. Only had it on for the video tearing. Found a workaround for that.

Look good so far. Haven't seen any glitches yet

Try disabling Compiz.

The black rectangles are back and the window decoration is still acting up.

The Intel driver for linux is kind of like 'buyer beware'. They don't claim that it will improve performance for everyone, so at least they are honest. Sounds like the system driver your using by default is the best for your computer. Stick with that.

I had the Intel Graphics Installer. That program doesn't work anymore for LL. I now just did a complete reinstall of LL.

Without the Intel this happend ->

The flickering an flashing is now gone as far as I can tell.

Haven't seen the black boxes in the panel yet.

The black boxes in the Youtube player are still there and I had to change some things in the about:config so I get more than just 360p.

And sadly performance in general dropped a bit. But since I wont use my Laptop much for gaming it's no biggy.

You mentioned you are using the 'Intel Graphics Driver' so I assume you have installed this at some point, correct? If so, where did you get it from?

How do I do that? The things I fund on the internet wont work

Remove it for now, see if the problem persists.

Hi,

I am experiencing several glitches on my screen. They come and go and its hard to take screen shots of them. I will add them when I manage to make some.

1. Black or white rectangular boxes in the bottom panel. They go away when I move the mouse or draw a window over them.


2. Invisible window decoration. happens sometimes. Since I have window shadows active its easier to tell when it happens. This even sometimes affects the Whisker Menu. Can be reversed by clicking on the window a few times.

3. Flickering and flashing in gifs and videos in FireFox. If the gifs at the top of the screen it stops (weird  ). The youtube videos only glitch if they are either embedded on other sides or are played in 480p. 360p, 720p and 1080p work fine. Is this because I use the HTML5 player? Also the youtube player sometimes has some flickering back boxes on the panel at the bottom of the player where the play/pause buttons are.

I am using LL 2.4 on a Lenovo E540 with Intel 4600 HD Graphics with the Intel Graphics Driver.

I appreciate all help I can get. These things sometime really get on my nerves.
