Just throwing this out here for whatever it's worth.

It's been a number of years since I've used it, but when I used to use Windows I always burned ISOs with this:  http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm.

Never had a problem.  Very easy to use.  Just install the program and it adds a "Copy image to CD" to your right-click menu.  Just right-click on the ISO file, pick "Copy image to CD", and that's it.

I assume it still works, but someone using Windows will have to confirm that.

I have a voting booth going on for the two already recommended in the documentation. Add yours or create a new voting system if you'd like, and let me know what you think. I'm under the "Still having problems" topic, and I am! If anyone else can help with this:

Tried this and immediately got an error, not a good first impression :( Also the website itself lacks any information on the iso standards that it supports. ie. there is a lack of technical support information for developers.

Hello Valtam,

this is unfortunate,  :(
I looked for an alternative burning program as the usually recommended one want a forced install of unwanted products with zero option to not install those, so I gave it a miss and looked elsewhere.
What I found that worked for me was the one I linked to above.

I burned my first Linux Lite OS using this on an old xp emachine pc to cd. After install I passed this copy along to another person to install on their machine.
I burned my own second copy for the current install of Linux Lite using windows 7 and an LG dvd burner, this was burned to a dvd, I just had more dvds spare than cds.
As I had used it on 2 OS and 2 different brands of burner more than once, eg I burned 4 other distro live cds too, I thought it would be okay to recommend it. I didn't factor in about the wide variety of hardware out there it hadn't been tested on.

Thank You for taking the time to check it and test it on other hardware :)

Hello,

I would like to offer a suggestion for a different software for burning the Linux Lite ISO to be recommended for new users coming over from windows.

FreeISOBurner

You do not need to install the program, just double left click to run it.

To make your ISO you only need to do this -

1/ double left click to run program.
2/ click "Open" button and browse to your Linux Lite ISO. Highlight it (one left click), then click the open button on the lower right of window.
3/ insert a cd, wait for the disc to spin up.
4/ click the burn button, when it ejects the cd (or dvd) is all done and ready to use.

It has no options for burning anything other than an ISO, so removes the chance for errors at that stage.

Additionally as it doesn't need installing it can also be dragged dropped along with a Linux Lite ISO to a USB flash drive and the burn software can be used from the flash drive as it's a portable application, to burn the Linux Lite file to a CD or DVD on site, it has a smaller form factor than carrying cds, and doesn't require the target install pc to have bootable usb feature.
