Hello!

Thanks! I may be able to pull it the theme off the 1.0.8 LiveCD, but if need be, I can install 1.0.8 VERY quickly...

Hello!

Jerry, so I know what to look for, what WAS the name of the 1.0.8 theme?

Rob,

I think it was Mediterranean Dark but it may have been customized. Might be easier to just copy it from themes in 1.0.8 if you still have a copy it and paste it into themes in 2.0. I copied BleuFear theme from Cup of Linux Manjaro and use it in LL.

I've deliberately steered away from dark themes anymore precisely because it does not fit with out 'light' image in terms of appearance, and DVD size. I certainly do appreciate the suggestion, but we will only provide on the DVD what is absolutely necessary, the rest is personal preference, especially in regards to themeing, icon sets etc. It's also important to remember that we are targeting Windows folk with this OS, so appearance wise we must be similar. If you have a favorite theme, chances are you have a copy or have it backed up somewhere and can be installed in less then a minute. Cheers :)

Fair enough, Jerry!  8)

When new users from Windows are ready for a dark theme, they can always come here to the forum to find out how to install one. For Linux users with even a little experience like me can appreciate how great Linux Lite is, the stock themes won't keep us from using Linux Lite. Even I could learn how to change to a dark theme. Part of why I use Linux is the challenge and fun of learning how to customize it. ;D

+1 - I also prefer the previous darker theme; and, yes, it also attracted me to LL in the first place. However, having a choice of light or dark would be the optimal solution. -- G

As Spatry mentioned in his review of 2.2   and others on this forum including me prefer a dark theme because it is easier on the eyes. The dark theme on the earlier versions was one of the things which originally attracted me to Linux Lite.

Could a dark theme like BleuFear* could be offered in the next version? Also maybe it could be offered as an update to Install Additional Software until the next version?

I have learned various ways to find and install themes now but did not know how when I started using Linux permanently in January 2014. Other newbies may not know how to find and install other themes that are not included.

* I copied it from Spatry's Manjaro but is also available here http://m4xm4n.deviantart.com/art/BleuFear-for-GTK-3-2-3-4-3-6-and-3-8-271798366
