I'm trying to get Warcraft II to work... I installed it, and read in Wine what to do for the game... don't really quite get it though.
Anyways, map editor works, and when i was making a map and selected to preview the map in actual game mode... it said something about 256 colors... I haven't figured out what LL runs on, but from messing around in the Image Editor, I noticed it has alot more than 256 colors....
....In Conclusion,  Tongue
How can i temporarily change the color display to play a game??

After looking at lots of ant-virus packages I'm homing in on Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux. I'm using an email package under Wine (as I've 10s of 1,000s of email that I use for reference). So I feel I must protect friends and colleagues by not passing on Windows viruses.

System Information shows Linux Lite kernel at 3.8.0.34

Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux version 9.x Recommended supports Ubuntu 12.04 LTS but stops at kernel linux-image-3.5.0-48-generic_3.5.0-48.72

Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux version 9.x Preview supports Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with kernels linux-image-3.8.0-33-generic_3.8.0-33.48 and linux-image-3.8.0-35-generic_3.8.0-35.52 but not 3.8.0.34

Is anyone running Sophos Anti-Virus successfully on the Preview version? If so, is that Recommended or Preview.

Hi

I'm struggling with the small text on my screen but cannot change the screen resolution.

When I go to Menu \ Settings \ Display then on the Display dialog there is Default set at 1280x1024, refresh rate 0.0 Hz, rotation: Normal and reflection: none. But on the all the drop down menus there are no other choices for any of these. Also there is no button to add another profile.

xrandr shows

xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Screen 0: minimum 1280 x 1024, current 1280 x 1024, maximum 1280 x 1024
default connected 1280x1024+0+0 0mm x 0mm
  1280x1024      0.0*

Then
xrandr --size 1024x768
shows
Size 1024x768 not found in available modes

Suggestions please.

PS At the moment I'm using a standard square screen but once I'm fully running on Linux then i'll be using my landscape screen. This square screen is using a vga cable as I don't have a spare DVI cable.

Hi,

Not sure if this is correct place to post this.?
Since the last update, yesterday, I have now had this error occur 2 times, only on Bootup.
I have been running LinuxLite about 15 days, everyday sometimes it's been on for 12hrs a day without seeing this.
I have had the "Send Report" ticked and pressed continue.

I've got 16 IBM ThinkPad G41s running Ubuntu beautifully, for many years. They have either Bios v1.11 or v1.16, which are slightly different in their options for the NUMLOCK function.

Long story short, none of the option choices for the NUMLOCK key on either of these Bios versions allows the NUMLOCK setting to be changed from ON to OFF in Linux Lite--it's just stuck ON!  Maybe the xnumlock command would turn it off, but it's not installed and in any case I can't type that name successfully on my system in order to install it!

Unlike some others, I can't push SHIFT to obtain the desired characters either. C'mon folks! This is no time for Linux to be frustrating new XP refugees with tiny but tragic flaws that nobody can overlook! The keyboard has just got to work the first time, or we'll lose tons of potential converts!

By the way, the 1st virtual terminal is always flooded with capital Us with an accent on top on my computers too. That won't impress XP refugees either!

I'm a French user.

After french language instalation and reboot of the computer, some items of the menu are still in english (the office submenu for exemple "New Document" instead of "Nouveau Document").

I would like to know how to translate the item menu in French

Hi,

I'm a usual Linux user (Ubuntu, PCLinuxOS, Crunchbang, ...).

I discovered LinuxLite few weeks ago and it was a good surprise. I use it now with pleasure.
