Have been running live CD LL2.0 on desktop without difficulty. 160gb two partition - main Vista + second smaller HP backup/recovery. Main partition had circa 30 GB free into which the LL2.0 was to go..
Tried to install dual boot but installation did not give me the option. So not wishing to replace vista I ceased installation via the "quit" option.
On shutting don LL2.0 live removing CD and then rebooting desktop, the computer is hanging and not going into Vista mode. Retried start up of vista after having switched desktop off from the mains.
Any guidance as to how to get desktop functioning on Vista again much appreciated. Hope i have not lost all the data on the disk.
Thank you.

Hello, I am a first-time poster, new to the forum, but not new to Linux Lite, or Linux.
I am looking for a reference manager that is compatible with LibreOffice 4. Does anyone know of one? I have been using Bibus exclusively recently, but I had used Referencer somewhat in the past. They all have their quirks, but Bibus is what worked best and most easily, that is, until LibreOffice 4 came out. Until then, I can't upgrade to Linux Lite 2, or any modern distro that will invariably include LibreOffice 4.
The LTS support is why I migrated to Linux Lite (albeit a short migration from Xubuntu). The 6-month upgrade cycles were for me one step forward & one step backward. I am slowly replacing all of my computers with Linux Lite (although I'll keep one Xubuntu box, which recognizes my Android phone effortlessly, which is a topic for another day).
Thanks!

| [SOLVED] Cannot remove Mumble & (Ristretto-) Image Viewer Whiskermenu entries |

Hey!
I removed Mumble & Ristretto via Synaptic Package Manager. But the menu-entries remained in the Whiskermenu.
I then removed the corresponding *.desktop - files in the following folders (and rebooted):
-/usr/share/applications &
-/.local/share/applications
I uninstalled Whiskermenu and used the classic xfce-menu - the entries were still there. Now I'm back to Whiskermenu still searching for a solution to get rid of the entries.
What else could I try? Thanks in advance from a Linux beginner.

I have been using Linux Lite on a 2nd machine since the first version was released. That 2nd machine is mainly used by my wife and son for all their computing needs.
I was a member on the old linux distro forums but thought it about time I joined the new swanky forum.

| Install LinuxLite 2.0 - Kernel panic during boot |

I burned LinuxLite 2.0/32bit to a cd, booted it, and it stops with an error
"kernel panic - not syncing - attempted to kill init - exitcode=0x0000100".
The md5 of the downloaded iso is ok,
burning + read-check were ok,
and my cpu can do pae.
Booting with safe-mode ends in the same crash,
but in the messages flying by on the console
I saw something like "squashfs error - failed to read block ..."
Is there a way to page-back in the console-output ?
Also, I would like to suggest
* Boot-option for checking the cd
* readme-file about linuxlite & install in the cd-root
