Hi
I occasionally record from my system's stereo mix with Audacity, radio shows etc. Up until recently I'd been using LL 1.08 but have upgraded to 2.0. Now, however, Audacity records and plays back recordings slowly. I have tried various settings, sample rates and so on but nothing seems to correct the problem. As it worked perfectly in 1.08, I'm wondering if the issue is with 2.0 or Audacity.
Does anyone know what version of Audacity was in LL 1.08 and if different, could this be re-installed to see if the fault lies with the 2.0.5 version of Audacity?
Incidentally version 2.06 is now available on the Audacity website but I believe you have to compile it yourself from the tar.xz file, which as a relative newcomer to Linux I'm not too sure about.
I'd be interested to see any suggestions or if anyone has had similar problems.

Linux Lite Virtual Machines are now available via Noobslab. Now you can use Linux Lite in a virtual machine without having to install it.
Available for both VirtualBox and VMWare: http://www.osboxes.org/linux-lite/

Quote:As a relative newby myself and having tried Manjaro COL as well as some other distros, I would recommend Linux Lite 2.0 https://www.linuxliteos.com/ instead. Manjaro COL is great but I would not recommend any rolling release for a newby.
Spatry did some great videos on Linux Lite but here are some newer ones https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwdyUulTk2I by Puppy Linux.
There is also a friendly and helpful forum https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/ especially for Linux Lite.
Easy install and no partitioning is required.

Wasn't exactly answering the question asked but could not help myself. ;D
What software do you recommend I use to install LL2 onto a USB pen drive, so that I can run it “live” from a pendrive, when plugged into an Windows 7 PC?
Many thanks for your help and advice - much appreciated.

Ever since I changed from the Mac environment to Linux, I have been wanting to find a simple and quick way to save video snippets from video files that I have (avi, mov, mp4, mkv).
Is there anyone out there that actually does this with any success? On the Mac I used MPEG Streamclip with great success. I have been trying to install the latest Avidemux with no success. I tried compiling it from their website. I have also tried installing from ppa when I searched google. Doesn't work.
I am using Linux Lite 2.0. I just want a simple and straightforward way to select snippets from a video file and save those snippets to my HD.
I have tried the following:
avconv -i input.mkv -ss 00:27:20 -t 00:33:40 -c copy output.mkvThis works but I am not sure what would be a quick way to scrub the video so I could quickly identify the start and end markers. Right now I am using VLC player to search for what I want to mark. Pretty cumbersome. Is there an easier way?
Thanks so much!
Hello everyone!
Linux Lite was my main (and first!) linux OS 2 or 3 years ago. I even won a competition about a year ago, loved it. Since then I've used a lot of distros, finally ending up at Arch, which I've used for about 9 months now. Arch has eventually got kind of annoying, I'm tired of constantly struggling to get certain things working, so I decided to come back to my roots (with my tail between my legs lol). Lite has changed since I got it, I'm loving the whisker menu 8)
I look forward to being part of this community

Hi,
For consistency I wanted to edit the Labels of the Libre Office entries.
The menu did not update after the edits, any ideas.?? Thanks... Dave
Hello,
used public domain image of the girl meditating, fixed her hair line as it was broken, fixed her make up as it was half outside her face, recoloured every area of the image 100% in Gimp.
Made the rest myself in Gimp.
Used the pepper brush and put a pepper in her hand as it just seemed nice idea.
