Does anyone know a way to encrypt or password protect a file in Linux Lite that will also allow a Windows user to decrypt the same file? Whenever I create a password protected zip file using the archive manager app and I send it to a Windows user, they can't get to the point where they can even use the password to decrypt it.
I get notification about updates, number increase every day, but I can't dl them.
Also, I have 15 years old computer and some obscure hardware but it shouldn't be a problem, I suppose. Update was working until recently, I was on vacation for 7 days, pulled out power from computer.

Hola, acabo de aterrizar en este s. o. tratando de revivir mi viejo pc, espero no aburrir a nadie con mis preguntas.
Saludos.
Got a funky one for you, may be simple too.
Playing back any videos with the AV1 video format flickers / skips heavily when using just about anything but VLC to play it.
Sound playback is fine in all the media players though.
Using kernel 6.3, tried other kernels with same thing.
System should be PLENTY fast to do av1 playback (not even encoding).

Curious if anybody else uses a hardware based security key for linux and other things for mfa stuffs?
I'm not talking about the 2fa programs on the phones but actual hardware keys like Yubikey and such.
I just bought the Yubikey 5c NFC and its fantastic!
Fooling around with it right now.
Hi folks !
Well, before trying it myself, I'd like to know if someone has already tried to install "Waydroid" and if it was worth the bother.
I'm considering installing it on my mini laptop as there're 2 apps I can't really find an equivalent on Linux, but as the machine is very limited, I'm a bit doubtful.
Any contribution welcome.

I need to print a shipping label but the postal service website is requiring adobe acrobat to view, print or save the label.
How would I install the acrobat software so my browser can print the shipping label?
When updating or installing software I keep getting "dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem. "
When I try running in terminal it does nothing - just seems to hang. Reboot does not solve issue.
Dear fellow Linux Lite users,
I love the new Linux Lite! Kudos to the wonderful developers!
To help those in need and to help our environment by keeping useful things (old laptops) out of the landfill, I refurbish old laptops and give them away to those in need so that they can apply online for jobs.
In a few cases involving Apple products (such as a late 2008 MacBook Air), the Linux Lite install process gets stuck at the "Updates and other software" section -- even when none of the boxes are checked. As a result, the installation process fails -- and I need to use another Linux distro instead.
I would welcome any advice.
All the best,
Bobby
Hello, I just installed Linux Lite and I wanted to gain access to some files in the File System that says that they are "Read Only" but I would like to Write and Edit some, what setting do I need to change to do this?
