I installed brackets text editor yesterday.  Now when I open help menu it opens the last file I was editing in brackets.  I downloaded it here: http://www.webupd8.org/2013/11/install-b...-open.html

I'm very new to linux so I appreciate any suggestions to fix this. 

Using LL 3.6 or 3.8.

If I use any style other than Arc then I get problems with text in the Menu Bar and Menus in Libreoffice fading and staying faded. They work, but don't look right. The condition remains until LO is re-started.

I have tried adding xfce gtk2 and gtk3 support, no difference. I normally use Clearlooks-Phenix style and Wallis window manager and I have only come across this issue in LL with Arc style.

Using the same version in stock Xubuntu 16.04.4 no problems.

Anyone got any ideas please????

A confirmation for anyone considering one of these cards is they work in Linux Lite.
Just bought one to replace my Auzentech Forte 7.1 and it works flawlessly in Linux Lite with full analogue direct out, (tested with 5.1) and with sp/dif optical out.
Also if you're a audiophile like me I can confirm the sound is outstanding.
One thing you may be puzzled by is if you do a lspci in terminal it will show up as a Asmedia USB 3 controller, I believe it uses the USB protocol to communicate with the onboard DAC so presents itself as a USB device. The Pulse Audio mixer correctly identifies it as a Strix soundcard though so all's good!

I am trying to make a backup to a usb drive using Timeshift. But how do i setup timeshift so it will also backup complete home folder?
Everytime i try it doesnt backup the content of my home folder. I am trying to get familiar with Timeshift, want to use it after installing LL 4.0

I'm a linux newbie, and I have just installed Linux Lite on my netbook.
I have a 250 Gb hard drive, and I tried to keep my data on a /home partition (150gb) that I can't get access too. Linux Lite is installed on another  partition (60 Gb) .

I've tried mounting and unmounting the partition using the command line, but always get a message that the partition can't be mounted, /home is busy, ...

Is there anyway to get access to it without losing any data? Please help ..

I am from the United Kingdom, Hope you all enjoyed the royal wedding!!
I started using Ubuntu in 2009 and from there to Debian and Arch.
I got in to Linux based systems because in 2009 my HDD died and had no way of using my PC for college. So I knew you could run Ubuntu off a CD in to memory without needing to install and so I did but what blew me away was the fact that everything worked out of the box, my scanners and printers and Wifi Dongles and without me needing to do a thing. Due to no money I could not replace my HDD and because it was an old IDE no PC world store had any. I used the Ubuntu CD for months. I could bore you with all the long details all day but i'm not here to write a book lol.

I haven't used a PC properly since 2016 and allot of my Linux Skills have gone down the drain so I am here to hopefully get some of that back and hopefully see someone who needs help in the forums and the problem they have rings a bell and I can help. Linux Lite has become my favorite distro because its implementation of XFCE is perfect and its got the right balance of preinstalled apps. Hopefully I get time to fly around these forums and chat to some people! Good day!

This is my first time full-time replacing Windows 8.1 with Linux. The programs I used for work prevented me from doing it long ago (there are no replacements for them), but now I can am use web-based applications.

I tried several flavors of Linux before, including supposedly user friendly ones such as Ubuntu and Elementary OS, but they never made me feel confident and reassured I would find my way around. It is still Linux, so lots of learning ahead. But I must say Thank you to the creators and collaborators of this amazing and well sorted out Operating System.

It was not without hiccups. Installing from Yumi wouldn't work, when I used Etcher it finally installed, but corrupted my Windows hard drive. I know, surely user fault. It happened before, so I was prepared with a backup copy of that disk to restore it if something went wrong (Macrium is amazing for that).

Now I ask of you a quick recommendation: what clipboard manager do you recommend? I need to access the clipboard history, preferably with keyboard shortcuts, but anything that will access more than a few clipboard entries will help. I saw a suitable nifty extension from Gnome extensions (https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/7...indicator/), but I couldn't make that work. I searched the forum for 'Gnome extensions', but I couldn't find anything specific to using them with Linux Lite.

In have some old XP machines I want to revive and start using again around the house and in garage for music and movies. Completely new to open source OS's, Linux Lite sounds like it should be a good fit, currently having a problem getting online with ethernet connection, no wireless cards here, yet. Going to see it thru and make it work. So. please help.
