I'm using a very old laptop with a not so good specs and I've decided to switch from Windows 7 to Linux Lite to maximize it. I'm a complete noob, don't know any codes whatsoever but I would like to learn.
How do I install Linux Lite using a virtual machine? I've been watching videos on YouTube but all of them already have a VM which confuses me if I have to download a VM or it is automatic if I click the install for Linux Lite link.
And what should I put in it?

Chapter 1 highlight so far -
making the Hello World file using the terminal directly and saving to the bin folder, then altering its permissions, and running in terminal from its filename alone, gave me a big smile, it is so very concise and efficient a method. 8)

Hi, In my time with linux (all the way back to 2004) scan detection has always been an issue.. You got to wonder why it is no one has figured out how to make it full proof right out of the box. (Like Windows does) Anyway I'm liking Linux Lite over Ubuntu! surprise huh.My WF-2760 prints but the scanner is not detected. I'm not interested in config files being wrongly setup nor am I interested in any complicated solution. I'm to old to figure all this out. Does anyone have a simple solution? Real simple? If you think you can figure it out I'd be willing to give you the ID and temp password to Teamviewer so you can  get on and get the scanner going, how bout that? This would be very much appreciated.

I installed "Amanda" with apt-get install Amanda with out errors. Terminal showed normal installation for a package. It is not in the Menu or ican't find anywhere to load it. Where did it go? :'(
