So not sure if this is the right category, but I have HP laptop, AMD GPU, AMD CPU, HP 17-ak001ds . I've connected my TV to the HDMI out on the laptop, but can't get LL to recognize it.
Linux Lite 4.0 (GNU/Linux 4.15.0-36-generic x86_64)

Any suggestions on what to try?

Thanks Smile

Maybe I'm not searching on the right keywords... Searched and can't find an answer. Is there a way to make the prompt identical when I'm SSH'd to my LinuxLite box from a Windows machine via Putty identical to the prompt I see when I'm at the console?

See attached for what I see when I'm local vs via Putty:
http://www.espphotography.com/putty.jpg is what I see via putty
http://www.espphotography.com/local.jpg is what I see locally.

Hello,

I have 1366x768 display. Having installed Linux Lite 4 I have noticed that in Libreoffice the menus overlap and obscure other menu titles. This isn't unique to Linux Lite but some distros seem to have overcome this problem.

Is there a solution?

Thx for any ideas.

I'm thinking in Series 5.x of having a replacement for llver.

When you type in llver, a simple dialogue box will appear with some basic information about Linux Lite. Think 'winver' in Windows.

A linux example:

The yad box is about perfect as an example of layout, information etc.

Our About box needs to have:

- Latest version of Linux Lite
- License (GPLv2) button
- Close button
- Credits button
- Linux Lite logo
- Linux to our website
- Copyright 2012 - 2018

You can write this in any language you like. I would suggest Python, but it's up to you. The finished product needs to be one, executable file. eg. llver.py

Happy hacking!

Hi,

perhaps this is due to myself emerging from WindowsOS environment, but I do miss an option to issue uninstalling of a program from rightlicking it in the desktopbar menu, then selecting an uninstall. This option could match the "purge" function on the selected program, perhaps.

I have a desk top and a laptop. I keep them in sync using pCloud. A few days ago I decided to install LL 4.0 on to the laptop. No problem. I do a lot of work with Python, so I expected to see that I now had v 3.6.6, and yes, that was all fine. I use a program called mu-editor to work with it. This needs v 3.6.6 so it worked fine.

Since I was pleased with LL 4.0 I decided to install it on my desk top computer. I used the same memory stick for this. Once it was done I checked for the Python version. It was 3.5.2 which was a surprise. I also tried the mu-editor which brought up an error. After a lot of searching around I have finally managed to install Python 3.6.6 on the desk top, so I now have three versions, 2.7, 3.5.2, 3.6.6. I made 3.6.6. the default version, then tried mu-editor. Error message, it will not run. I have also found that the Python module gi will import happily on the laptop, but is "not found" on the desk top.

So, now I will have to use the laptop whenever I want to work with Python, but go back to the desk top for everything else. What puzzles me is that I used the same memory stick for both installations, so expected them to be the same. Weird.
