Hello,
I would appreciate if you can help me solve this issue. I know I need to eliminate those files from the .../archives/ directory but I am not sure if it's correct doing it manually or it's better to make it from the terminal. If it is the latter, how can I delete them using the 'apt autoremove' command?

I have a 17.3" Acer Chromebook 317, converted to Linux Mint first of all. Worked well, except no sound (had to use a USB Card), and some of the keys didn't work. The main problem was overheating, 80c running videos. There is no fan, and no ventilation. Eventually I ended up with MX 23.2, Jasper Lake sound worked with pulseaudio . The heat problem remained, but was less than with Mint.
I have now installed Linux Lite 6.6. The keyboard all works, as does the Numpad, and the temperature is much lower. Unfortunately, there is no sound, and it can not find Jasper Lake. Volume Control (pavucontrol), and alsamixer are there, but there is no sign of pulseaudio. Configuration is empty, no cards found. Sound works with a USB card.
It needs to find Jasper Lake. When first installed LL had a 5.15.? kernel. I changed it to 6.6 which MX had, but it made no difference.
Has anyone any suggestions?
B.T.W. I had to use the terminal to install "touchpad-indicator" because its no longer listed in the package manager, wonder why?
I Installed Linux Lite yesterday and I have a problem with (I think) the Keyboard Layout, I configured the keyboard layout to Latin American Spanish. I left the system language in English, (Because I need to practice my English). However, I have the problem that it seems that the Layout is not set correctly. I have the keys "J","K", "L", "U" and "I", "O" as "1", "2", "3", "4", "5" and "6" respectively. What could be the problem?
I got this error message on starting updates - what to do please? Thanks!

Thank you in advance,

I had a recommendation to install LinuxLite to Pen drive as a portable OS.
Really bad idea.
The installation seems to have worked but my 500G HD from which I was dual booting has had its partition table removed.
I'm really angry right now as I have spent 2 days trying to recover data, so far without success.
Al abrir Lite Wellcome la ventana se queda en blanco y no visualizada nada!
No sé hay que reinstalar del el emulador de la terminal con
sudo apt install --reinstall lite-welcome
para arreglar el problema.
Es un problema que atañe a las actualizaciones
sudo apt install --reinstall lite-welcome No soluciona el pronlema
Updating software from noble-backports can break this distribution?
After having installed Linux Lite 7 I found it - to be honest - quite annoying, that the desktop is not configured as in the Live System (after reboot it has a, to say the least, unpleasant appearance with two panels etc.). Why is that?
I managed to configure almost everything, the only question remains: How to get the "Linux Lite Terminal" exactly as it was in the Live System? Is there a configuration file somewhere? Now I have only the ordinary Xfce-Terminal. Not a big thing, but would be nice to have the Linux Lite appearance.
I have just installed LL 7.0. I have a USB drive, Seagate, that has 2 partitions on it. one is ext 4, the other NTFS.
When I plug the USB drive in, the ext 4 is recognized and is usable straight up. The NTFS partition is not.
The message for the error is
" wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb1, missing code page or helper program, or other error"
If I load disks and try and mount the partition there, I get the same error.
HOWEVER:
I am able to mount via the commend line. ???
If i use sudo mount /dev/sdb1 /media/ . It will load and be usable.
The ownership of the drive is all.
Any advise / help would be greatly appreciated.
I am not a Linux expert, so please do keep it simple if you are able to help.
H.
