How do I rename an external drive?

I have two identical external LaCie drives.
When they are both plugged in (at the same time), only one "LaCie" is listed. I guess I need to rename them "LaCie1" and "LaCie2" to avoid this, but would appreciate if someone could advise on how to do it. I went to Menu Disks but couldn't find anything there to help.I'm unsure of the command line for this too.
All help much appreciated, as ever

Frequent Updates=Extraordinary Stability?

I am struck by how many updates Linux Lite has. Compared to the Ubuntu flavors, for example. but then I realized how incredibly stable this operating system is, more-so than any other I have used. Which is why it is the only Linux that I have never removed from my system. It just keeps working smoothly. So, are the frequent updates the reason? In the past, I have tended to stick with LTS versions of Mint, Ubuntu etc. The updates are less frequent, compared to Lite. Does this make Lite a rolling release? Just some thoughts going through my mind. Another is that this OS is very underrated. Anyone else have that thought? Just curious.

How to get the proper Support you are seeking

Folks lately, some of you including those that have been around for a very long time are side stepping the first port of call in seeking support for some Software issues.
I'm going to sticky this post and remind people of the steps to take. From the Help Manual, Start page:
![[Image: RIYQkf1.png]](https://i.imgur.com/RIYQkf1.png)
This excerpt has been in the Help Manual since day one.
This is how it all works.
If you are having any trouble with the Software Linux Lite produces like Lite Software, Lite Tweaks etc then please, post here on the Forums in the first instance. We are the developers of Lite Tweaks. We are obliged to support it. Just like Firefox or VLC are obliged to support users of their software.
If you are having any trouble with any other Software including XFCE and the programs available for install in Lite Software you should be contacting the developers directly via their respective Support channels. Can you imagine to date, how many bugs, fixes Companies/Organizations have missed out on fixing/seeing because people here have posted on these Forums and nowhere else? We're talking about crashes, bugs, general questions etc. Those communities deserve to see your information before anyone else.
If you have posted in a Support section and you are not directly seeking support for a piece of software, your thread will most likely be moved to a non Support section of the Forums like On Topic.
I (Jerry) don't do personal Support requests, sorry. It's actually better if you post on the main Forums in the appropriate section where everyone has a chance to respond.
I'll add to this from time to time should people require more specifics.
Cheers,
Jerry

LL 3.6 64 bit 4GB RAM
Been using Thunderbird for mail for 6years+ on Windows and now LL since 2014. been very reliable - updated etc. via LL updates.
Now and again started to get the following come up when sending emails.
"Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your sent folder (Sent Items) due to network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message locally to Local Folders/Sent Items-xxx@yyyy.eu.
Your message has been sent and saved, but there was an error while running message filters on it"
Copies of emails fail to appear in sent folder for that email address although I press yes to save if that message comes up on screen.
Also if I use browser to view sent emails (webmail) the corresponding email fails to appear, BUT recipients tell me they have received them???
I have checked both Thunderbird and my ISP and separate Mail host and have no filters set on any of them - blanks
Seems to happen if I have attachments to emails (Few MB) such as pdfs or jpgs.
Running SOPHOS in background - Not aware that there are filters there that could be interfering- would not know where to look. No SOPHOS warnings in log
Stared BCC emails to a back up gmail account just to be sure.
The trouble is that this does not happen all the time, just now and again. I have checked capacity on my email host server and I am about 60% of my allowable capacity.
Hope the above makes sense. Ideas / check routine welcomed.

Should I install LL 3.8 or go to LL 4.x series?

I am bringing up this question as my accountant has donated some laptops (Dell Latitude E5530 64 bit i5 4 GB RAM and HD of approx 115 GB if I include the space that Win 10 Pro is currently taking up).
I am familiar with and very happy with LL 3.8 and I love "System Back" having needed to use it more than once, in fact several times!
Having read a bit about the 4.x series I am feeling that I should stick with LL 3.8 because of the lack of System Back in the 4.x series as these computers are being used for the high school youth in South Africa for academic study and research, not university or business.
My intent is to put Linux Lite on a few of these laptops as "back up" for the youth in case one of the really old laptops packs it in while I am back in Canada for 5 months. At some future point if I required one for a youth going to University I would then reload Win 10 pro on these ones.
I'm wondering if I am missing something that may make my decision a poor choice or if it appears valid?

Trouble installing Update Manager Lite

Because I ran into issues with one of the old laptops I use for youth I decided to try the route Artim suggested about selective updates since I am a newbie. I was able to install it on the problem laptop, however I have tried installing it on two other older laptops and I believe I am doing the same steps.
I followed the article I found for "update manager for Linux lite 3.x series" and initially on all of them I went ahead and tried the sudo line for the unlockforus repository which didn't work and then I found out it appears that this repository already exists on the laptops. So I went ahead and put the other sudo command in to get and install mintupdate. As I said it worked on the first laptop, but the message I am getting on the other(s) is:
WARNING: The following packages cannot be authenticated!
mintupdate-lite
E:There were unauthenticated packages and -y was used without --allow-unauthenticated
I'm not sure what I am doing different or wrong...
Might someone be able to comment and point me in the right direction should I wish to pursue putting this on select laptops?

Installing Chromium browser which boxes do I tick?

It was suggested from another thread I posted that I try another browser on a machine that was acting unusually.
While it currently is acting normally I would like to be prepared and have Chromium installed in case Firefox stops working as I may not be able to install at that time.
I have read an earlier post that recommends I do it through Lite software so that flash player works properly, however when I go into the install/remove programs and type chromium in the search bar there are about 10-12 different lines (and their respective boxes) that I can tick - I’m not sure which ones (maybe all?) that I should tick to install.
Is someone able to guide me here?
