| problem saving updates |

I tried to save Lite Updates, to its usual folder, but I kept getting Root as the location. when I selected Desktop, it also came up as root, with no option to navigate to the updates folder.
I'm not sure if this is just since 2 days ago when I upgraded to 4.4, but it's certainly just in the last few days.
As a comparison test, I've just done a random screenshot and saved it to a random selected folder without problems.
Ps: I've just tried the same save Updates operation on a HP and it worked fine as usual. The above problem is on my Dell.

the alias: alias ls="ls --color" in .bashrc returns color codes in variables - I never had problems with this on any other distribution before. is there a way i can use colors in xfce terminal but not getting them returned as text in a variable on linux lite?
I get the following output for this line:
Code: for folder in `ls`;do ls $folder/*;done
![[Image: YGLSCQa.png]](https://i.imgur.com/YGLSCQa.png)
as workaround I uncomment the line.
thanks for your help

Trying to install apps from the snapcraft.io using the "sudo snap install {appname}" command, I consistently get the following error:
x509: certificate signed by unknown authority
What is the cause of it, how to fix it?

| ANBOX - Android apps native on Linux |

ANBOX - website link HERE - is a compatibility layer, allowing to run Android apps directly on Linux kernel, thus providing an theoretically extra buffer to the native Linux software infrastructure. That is the promise. The software is still in fairly fresh development. I would like to have it installed, though, as well as when the time comes, it would be nice to have it even preinstalled on the distro, for certain though to be seen in Lite Software centre. If the time ever comes, that is. It would be great pity if it never did. But the point is, I am having issues installing it, which begins with adding the DKMS-based PPA already. I am also afraid the snap system further could give an error, such as it does with the snapstore: x509: certificate signed by unknown authority.
Is there any possibility to actually make the thing more accessible on Ubuntu, for which it is primarily meant, as it seems, assuming after the statement of: "At the moment we only have packages prepared for Ubuntu in a PPA on Launchpad."?

I really like Linux Lite but I'm having problems with Firefox. It will launch but not connect. My WiFi is working but message says "unable to connect to www.linuxtheos.com". Not too complicated. I'm new at all this. Thank you

Release Announcement
Linux Lite 4.4 Final is now available for download and installation.
This release has a number of minor changes.
![[Image: 20ls3IX.png]](https://i.imgur.com/20ls3IX.png)
Changes:
Moved from Betas to RC releases. The RC releases Build number is the date of the actual ISO build eg. Build 24022019 - 24th February 2019. The RC information and Build number will only appear on the default wallpaper for that release, Login screen and the Live Boot screen. The positioning of the text is such that it allows room for desktop widgets like Conky and Lite Widget to appear uncluttered on the right. Finals will not have any build information on the default wallpaper.
RC Build wallpaper:

Updated the Papirus icon theme to the latest release.
Sound Juicer CD ripper has now been added to Lite Software. To get rip-to-mp3 support, Sound Juicer will also install the Restricted Extras package.

Volume level - the double level volume bug has been eliminated.
Removed all references to Google+ as that service is due to close down on April 2nd 2019.
We have moved from Sourceforge distributed servers to OSDN as OSDN will help to finance our project. Their systems and mirror choices are virtually similar.
Details:
Kernel: 4.15.0-45 (custom kernels also available via our Repository for versions 3.13 - 5.0)
Firefox: 65.0 Quantum
Thunderbird: 60.4.0
LibreOffice: 6.0.7.3
VLC: 3.0.4
Gimp: 2.10.8
Base: 18.04.2
Known Issues:
None as yet.
Please note:
RC1 was a solid release where no hiccups were reported. As such, this 4.4 Final is basically the RC1 with only the wallpaper changed. Therefore, if you have 4.4 RC1 installed but want the Final, RC1 IS the Final. One caveat, since there were no updates to the build from RC1 to Final, your first updates will be a big one.
Upgrading
> Menu, Favorites, Install Updates (you must reboot if asked to, otherwise continue to the next step)
> Set a Restore Point - Menu, System, Timeshift
> Menu, Settings, Lite Upgrade
> Reboot

Candidate: 4.0-0030-linuxlite
If you've ran Install Updates and still don't have this version or greater you can either - wait 24 hours, or change to the default Linux Lite repository in Lite Sources.

Lite Upgrade - What it won't do:
