Posted by: kissbaby3 - 09-01-2019, 02:24 AM - Forum: On Topic - Replies (18)

ok, the title , is what is is , and if this topic needs to be moved fine, just let me know where, or just move it  , i just dont know where to put this topic.

i am no prude ,we all or a percentage of us got curious, it happens , go to a porn site , i went to one , wondering what the fuss was about, damn near peed my pants laughing  :o ,
any ways , its not my thing, but my other half tried  a site , and it froze my PC, lol, his brain is going i think , ha ha , he did this twice to me so far, like last night , ha ha , i had to reinstall Linux lite , it froze my pc big time, lol....... i now have Linux lite 4.6 cuz of this fun thing he did .......so now my PC is a virgin again, .....ha ha toooo funny right ?....PC is fine now.

he is 12.5 years older than me , i refuse to get mad, only chuckle, dont know why he forgot what happen the first time my Linux PC froze cuz of him.
but he is up there in age years, one can not really get mad at a old fella wanting to look at nipples ....right ?.

soooooo, i was wondering what can a lady in her 50's , do to protect a man who is losing his marbles and likes to look at nipples other than mine.
do i add a firefox extension or a google chrome extension blocking such sites ?. what does a lady do , i mean i do everything else right ?, its just men love nipples ,
what can i say , ha ha ha . now i am not quite tech savy..........i am hoping to test out some really easy idea's first, besides keeping  him occupied, wink......

does any one have some ideas , so i dont have to reinstall Linux ?.  maybe  ?,

i say thank you to who ever has fun trying to help me , this could not only be helpful, but funny and fun........

'Lightroom' app (Photoshop): is there an equivalent for LL
Posted by: m654321 - 08-31-2019, 07:21 AM - Forum: On Topic - Replies (2)

I know someone whose on the verge of switching from Windows 10 to LL.
He's a keen photographer, using Photoshop Lightroom (a.k.a. Lightroom) to routinely modify the raw file parameters of his photos (e.g. colour balance, exposure, etc). Raw is the name of the file format

His concern is that if he switches to LL, there wont be software available, like Lightroom, that will enable him to manipulate the raw file parameters.

Is there a good equivalent of Lightroom that he could use in LL?

Someone Forked GIMP into Glimpse Because Gimp is an Offensive Word
Posted by: Moltke - 08-30-2019, 02:21 PM - Forum: Off Topic - Replies (2)

Hi everyone! Hope you're all having a nice life! Smile
While checking itfoss.com bumped into this article https://itsfoss.com/gimp-fork-glimpse/ Excertp:

Quote:If you are wondering why these people find the work GIMP disagreeable they answer that question on the About page:

“If English is not your first language, then you may not have realised that the word “gimp” is problematic. In some countries it is considered a slur against disabled people and a playground insult directed at unpopular children. It can also be linked to certain “after dark” activities performed by consenting adults.”
What do you think? I find it "overreacted" and unnecessary. GIMP works great.

  Question about bundled software
Posted by: redplanet - 08-28-2019, 10:00 PM - Forum: Other - Replies (2)

Not exactly a support issue, been using LL about two years but still a relative noob.  So, I think I installed LL 3.8 at first, maybe 3.6...  So, with the bundled software there was an audio alarm app that I used all the time.  It let me select a sound file (I d/l a bunch of different alarms for this), and select a time, standard alarm program, but not an alarm clock.  To clarify, this was a GUI, not a CLI, program that would schedule, play, and loop an audio file.

So, due to messing things up (installed NIC, messed up settings, etc.) I have had to reinstall a few times, now I have LL 4.2, and that program is gone.  Honestly, I'm not sure it was bundled or I found it in repos, but I can't find it again for the life of me.  I have googled, and tried searching through synaptic, with no luck.  I really want to find this program again, any help is truly welcome.

Edit:  Really, I only want to find the name of this program, although a link is welcome, this is all I'm asking for.  Anyone know what I'm talking about?

"Making a 'business' installing LL on old computers": your comments please ...
Posted by: m654321 - 08-28-2019, 04:03 PM - Forum: On Topic - Replies (15)

To supplement my meagre pension, I put an advert in the online version of a local advertisement-only paper. The service I'm offering is to rejuvenate old computers, that people might otherwise throw away. To bring them back to life, I would install LL on them for a small fee - details of the package are at this link:

https://www.friday-ad.co.uk/st-leonards-...-16483482/

10% of any income I may make from this little venture, will be donated directly to LL.  Smile
The problem is that noone, as yet, has taken up the offer, though I'm remaining optimistic  :-[

So is there something I need to change in the advert to provoke more interest?
Your comments/criticisms are welcomed or alternative approaches to marketing, etc.

Many thanks in advance for any feedback on this
Cheers
Mike
